Ah that would be the 700mb update I had yesterday that I didn't know about. Command line tools. Nice. That works great for the main release, not so much for the command line tools!![]()

the weather widget turned white when I upgraded. Rebooted and it was backJust upgraded from 13.0.1. Everything works EXCEPT the Weather widget is no longer listed as an option and the one I had is just an empty white tile. The Weather app works just fine, mind you. Anyone else lose your option to add a Weather widget?

the private relay issue for me was caused by expressvpn app. If you have it, uninstall it (properly) and reboot. now private relay should work and icloud setting too.
Helpful to see this -- happened to me, too, when I went directly from 12.6.1 to 13.1 RC on a 2019 Intel MBP. The settings window going blank corresponded to the process Apple ID completely failing/shutting down.It looks like they've added some. Try looking at your Apple ID section and see it slow down, go blank, etc.
I skipped Monterey and Big Sur, and Ventura thus far, but a bit worried about lack of security updates on Mojave.STAY on Mojave. I wish I could run Mojave on my M1 Air. But alas….
The user interface and some apps 32bit apps keep me on Mojave. I don’t care about security. I thing security by obscurity should work fine with Mojave. I have a M1 Macbook air that came with Monterey and now runs on Ventura. I only use it to install and test the new MacOS versions when they come out (out of curiosity). Otherwise it gathers dust. My choice is a Macbook Pro from 2015 running Mohave. I use it for everything and for many hours daily. To give en example: I’ve deleted the HORRIBLE Books app and I use iTunes 12.6.5.3 to manage my books with my iPads. I use iTunes 12.9.5.5 to manage and transfer my music to all my iPhones including my iPhone 12 mini. I find the music app on Ventura a piece of crap and there both the Music app and iTunes want me to erase the iPhone 12 before I can use it. Erase over 7000 songs in carefully curated playlists. What a joke….I skipped Monterey and Big Sur, and Ventura thus far, but a bit worried about lack of security updates on Mojave.
Partly that's because the overwhelming majority of 'normals' (not my words) use their computers as little more than glorified $2k Chromebooks, and realistically could get away with using MacOS V1 providing it was patched to run the latest versions of the most popular internet browsers. Most of the bugs won't even appear on those users' radars. But that doesn't mean users who have encountered what are 'show stopping' issues for them "have no clue what they are talking about". That's a very very myopic and sanctimonious viewpoint. No, you’re not living under a rock, you’re the rule not the exception. Forums like MacRumors are always chocked full of reports from users who have no clue what they are talking about. The most common phrase is, “I hope this fixes..." (insert some weird issue no one’s ever heard of) but is promoted as widespread, dangerous, and show stopping.
Meanwhile the vast, vast majority of we ‘normals’ just go about using macOS without any major problems, like yourself, blissfully unaware of the carnage that is claimed to be happening before our eyes.
Same thing happened to me. Turned out I needed to not only disable the Little Snitch firewall, but uninstall and delete it from my Mac before I could connect to the internet and complete the Ventura installation. The Ventura update went smooth on my M1 and M2 MBA. My 2108 Mac mini was a different matter. It was still on Monterey. After it updated to Ventura 13.1, I had no internet access. I tried changing the DNS, hotspot using my phone, forgetting the network and re-adding etc. and nothing worked.
I normally use LS but, luckily I believe I had removed it a while back and forgot to reinstall. It used to be my Plex server and now it is sitting around gathering dust. I still don't know what caused the problem. It was not a good Apple night for me on Tuesday. lolSame thing happened to me. Turned out I needed to not only disable the Little Snitch firewall, but uninstall and delete it from my Mac before I could connect to the internet and complete the Ventura installation.
The only thing I've seen close to this, I just saw today trying to start the 13.1 download and install.Anyone else find, in 13.0.1, that when it asks for an admin password from a non admin account, it doesn't accept it? I seem to have to log out of my user account and into my admin account to start the update...
Any chance that's fixed in 13.1?
I didn’t think to try that, but that sounds like a significant bug…The only thing I've seen close to this, I just saw today trying to start the 13.1 download and install.
Whether installing app updates or checking system settings, prompts for administrator credentials accepted my admin account with no problem... except for the attempt to start the 13.1 update.
It prompted for administrator credentials, but wouldn't take them.
My standard (non-admin) account, for some unknown reason, worked, and the download is in progress.
I have zero clue why an admin prompt would only take my standard account.
As always, it's YMMV depending on which applications and peripherals that you use, but I haven't had any issues with Ventura. Annoyances aplenty with the confusing system preferences changes, but no actually issues.still running Monterey, do any of you running 13.1 feel it's polished enough to upgrade from Monterey at this time? Been waiting for them to work out a majority of bugs. Thanks for any input!
