Apple today seeded a second version of the initial macOS Sierra 10.12.2 beta, which comes two days after the macOS Sierra 10.12.2 beta was originally seeded to developers.

The build number of today's update is 16C32f, while the original 10.12.2 beta build number was 16C32e, indicating a small incremental update that does not count as a full second beta release.

Because the new beta is not showing up as an over-the-air download in the Mac App Store for developers who have already installed macOS Sierra 10.12.2, it likely only includes minor tweaks and will be provided only to developers who are downloading the beta for the first time.

macOS Sierra 10.12.2 includes the same new emoji and emoji updates that are present in the iOS 10.2 beta, introducing support for Unicode 9 emoji and new profession emoji. Some of the new emoji characters include selfie, face palm, crossed fingers, shark, owl, butterfly, bacon, avocado, and croissant.

Apple has also updated many existing emoji with new artwork, adding detail and making them look brighter and more realistic.

The 10.12.2 update also includes under-the-hood bug fixes and performance improvements to address issues discovered since the release of macOS Sierra 10.12.1.

Update: The macOS Sierra 10.12.2 update is now available as an over-the-air download for developers, but it is still labeled as "Beta 1."

Wonder why there hasn't been a public beta yet?

iOS 10.2 public beta has gone out on schedule so far.

That's not quite true.

It will still be possible to update from 16C32e to 16C32f via direct links and via a second partition running El Capitan.

Developers who are familiar with this method will know what I'm talking about.

The update is available OTA and from the developer site - I'm right now updating OTA - and I have the first beta 1 installed.

Wonder if this fixes Safari crashing after the first release. In 10+ years never had such an experience developing with OS X, right after the first beta Safari and Safari Technology Preview began crashing on all my Mac's (current gen Mac Pro6,1, 27" Retina iMac, Mac mini, etc). Only fix I found was deleting the saved application states and caches for each web browser.

Update: Installed, definitely fixed the issue. Good job!

10.12.2 Public Beta 1 fixed the issue with my rMBP Mid-2014 operating in clamshell mode with an external 4K Dell P2415Q monitor (via mini Display Port) not turning on if you restarted. Whew.

Can anyone confirm whether scrolling one click at a time on a non-Apple mouse actually works in 10.12.2 beta? I upgraded to Sierra over the weekend and scrolling slowly with my USB mouse results in no movement on screen. Doesn't happen in El Capitan, so Apple has changed something in Sierra, which I hope is an unintentional bug that they have or will fix.

Edit: Reported to be fixed in the upcoming 10.12.2 update.

Not sure what you're talking about. I installed the E version from the app store. The F version showed up in the app store at some point after that and I updated via the store.

Of course, my inability to log in to more than six accounts via user switching isn't fixed. Instead of an error message, it just hangs now. Way to go Apple! I should post a review on Sierra in the app store about this. Oh wait, you can't because they disabled reviews for it!

The links in apple's developer forum are for the installation packages for 10.12.2 betas, namely,

macOSUpd10.12.2DeveloperBeta.pkg
macOSUpdCombo10.12.2DeveloperBeta.pkg
FirmwareUpdate.pkg
FullBundleUpdate.pkg
EmbeddedOSFirmware.pkg

They can't be run individually from within Sierra, but can from another partition running El Capitan. If you do it this way you just have to be careful to select the Sierra partition on which to install it.

Instructions on how to use these packages are also in apple's developer forums.

Quick question, I was enrolled in the Sierra beta, but unrolled 10.12.1 beta ended. Yet, last night it installed 10.12.2-beta (16C32f) for me. The option to unroll is even gone from the settings screen. Anyone know how to fix this?

Posted screenshot below: (it's in Swedish, but you can see that the option is just missing)

Ouch. I installed this beta "update" (which is what, "10.12.2 beta 1 attempt 2"?) on top of the first beta (which I shall call "10.12.2 beta 1 attempt 1") and on rebooting it locked my iCloud account.

I had to unlock it and then change the password which, of course, meant my iPhone also lost iMessage, FaceTime access etc until I'd re-logged in and reconnected everything back. With two-factor authentication turned on, my laptop and phone were going crazy trying to authenticate each other, then deciding the account was actually locked, then asking me to reset passwords etc etc. It sorted itself out eventually! Fun :)

Also looks like it fixes the issue of screen shots being added inline to a Mail message at Actual Size remain at the proper size for Retina and non-Retina displays. In 10.12.0 and 10.12.1, it would show 2x the size on all displays.

I get an Program Error in Photoshop CS6 since the beta-update. Try something else later on.
