I got my Pro 3s for Christmas and since then I wear them at the gym six days a week for an hour and a half, no screeching. I’ve used them when I’ve gone outside for a walk, no screeching. I occasionally use them at home, no screeching. I did the hearing test and I have no diminished hearing. I really like them.

This product has gone downhill fast. I’ve used AirPods since day one, but the AirPods Pro 3 were a shock—I honestly thought they were fake. The “Made in Vietnam” box, cheap-feeling case lid, and weird noises when putting them back in the case don’t help. Call quality is awful—people constantly can’t hear me, so I end up using my phone. Battery life is also worse despite Apple’s claims; both the buds and case are always dying. ANC is unusable on planes because it actually amplifies engine noise. I never had any of these issues with the AirPods Pro 2. Completely unacceptable. The frequent firmware updates is a sign of a desperate company shipping an unfinished product! This would never have happened on Steve Jobs supervision!
I had Apple support tell me mine were fake because the did not expose the full settings options to iOS 18. Even the Apple support reps weren't informed as to how needlessly crippled these things were without forcing an upgrade to the universally despised iOS 26 dumpster fire. It took support a couple weeks to figure out how their own product even worked.

I'd love if this firmware update would resolve the issue with the ANC on AirPods Pro 3 (while wearing without any audio source) degrading over time. When I put them in my ears at first, the ANC is great. Then about 10 minutes later I start to notice ambient noise creeping in. When I toggle back to transparency and then to noise cancelling again, the ANC resumes working and everything is quiet again. Rinse and repeat. When these things work the ANC is great. I just hate that the ANC keeps degrading.

UPDATE: They fixed it!!!!!!! Months after buying two sets of AirPods Pro 3 the ANC is finally working consistently. Yay!
Sometimes with mine there's nothing I can do that will make the ANC work properly again. I've had luck by blowing on the microphone though. It's strange because it's usually just one of the earbuds goes rogue. I'll put them away and then next time I go to use them they're fine.

Also, it's not the seal in my ear because I can swap ears and the problem swaps with the bud.

I hope you're right and that they're finally fixed. It gets annoying after a while.

I hope this fixed Adaptive Audio because it sucks now. Transparency and Adaptive Audio let the same amount of noise in.
Adaptive is meant to change the amount of ANC depending on the situation. If you're in a quiet environment, it will seem as if there's no ANC at all, but as you go into a louder area, you'll notice the ANC kicking in a little harder and the ambient noise will be reduced.

Could not use my AP3 with my android based screen projector this morning - they connect but no sound playing. The only thing that changed is this new software…

Bought the Pro 3's recently from the original Pros, did the hearing test, passed with flying colors (they say the best score really) and don't hear any high pitched scream.

As far as the "Made in Vietnam" box, did you prefer the Made in China box that much more?

I think ya'll might mistake a bad product for a defective product and maybe you should go get some warranty support.
You open a product you know well, but it feels cheap and plastic-like. Then you notice on the box that it was manufactured in a country different from where Apple usually produces its products. That rings counterfeit alarm-bells for me.

I tried to update. AirPods are now on last firmware but case is still on 8B30. Already tried to reset AirPods several times but same issue. Any idea ? Thanks.

Have you contacted Apple to get a replacement set? It sounds like they are defective. It’s unfortunate but it happens.

AirPain Pro

The high pitched noise these things give off was a disspointment.
Comments along this line are a relief at least in knowing it’s not just my pair. Especially while flying recently I keep getting this awful high pitched sound and I’m sure Apple will refuse to replace them.

Any way to update whilst still running iOS 18?
yes, go to a friend with a phone on iOS26, let them register yours, wait until the update is finished, have your friend delete your airpods from their "find my", re-register them with your phone, done. it's a truly seamless apple experience that will connect you to others in ways like you've never imagined before.

I’ve always found that if Apple finds a problem with their products they follow through and replace them.

The first version of Adaptive Audio was basically as strong as ANC, but with every update, it just lets more and more noise in. Same thing is happening with the ANC too.
I believe it's improved with updates. I used to have an issue where it would turn up the volume for background noise, then turn it down below where it was before, which was annoying. It seems to have improved over time.

I hope it fixes Siri not being able to cancel timers, although I suspect that's an iOS 26 bug. I can set a timer, but when it goes off I can't cancel it through the APP3. I never had an issue with the origional AirPods Pro.

I use my AirPods three in hearing aid mode. Before the firmware update, they would frequently make very high-pitched, irritating chirping, or screams. I’d say they were more like trips. After the firmware update, they are 99% gone.

They didn't fix the harsh highs...
Really? I fall asleep to music every night with my APP3s in, and the only complaint I have so far is the lack of high end definition. The added bass response compared with the APP2s (which seemed relatively (too?) flat) is nice, but it seems to have come at the cost of treble response. Hopefully Apple will continue to dial in the sound.

But overall my experience with the APP3s has been great. The improved battery life and improved ANC has been a godsend (the new neighbors upstairs are pretty heavy-footed...), and they are far more comfortable and secure in my ears.

Yeah I got it

No issues

Well I’m only 10 days into my 3’s coming from 2’s and I find the highs more bright than previous ones. Most reviews claim the sound profile is a V response… I find that pretty accurate. Most genera I listen to is jazz and the enhanced bass response is a pleasant surprise.

I’ve always found that if Apple finds a problem with their products they follow through and replace them.
I've always found they simply replace with the same faulty item - eg 17" PowerBooks got the same faulty motherboard replaced in them under the recall so obviously failed later, those faulty keyboards were replaced with the same ones (that apparently VERY rarely fail) and thus they absolutely failed all over again, etc. Apple are such a great company but also a nightmare sometimes - heck bugs I have reported in their OS years and years later just go unfixed whereas other vendors bam, fixed weeks or months later. 🙁
