Interesting...the Magic Keyboard attached to my 13-inch M4 iPad Pro just got an update to 0750.0220.0304 — different firmware images for different sizes, or just an intermediate update stage?

That's what my says as well -- originally from my 11 inch iPad Pro M4, now attached to my 11 inch iPad Pro M5. But it can't be a very recent firmware upgrade because I was using it without a keyboard for the last couple of weeks

My iPadOS: 26.2 (23C55)

0750.0220.0304 - same here…

Same here on my M5 13”. (keyboard originally purchased with for my M4 13”) Same version update on my M5 11” keyboard.

Same here on 13” and 11” keyboards.

Is anyone here actually seeing the 1872.x version referenced in the original post? If so, what is the hardware version of your keyboard — is it different from the 0007 I'm seeing for mine?

Same here - 11" M5.

Same keyboard version number 0750.x.x on my m5 13” IPP. I’m running the beta 26.3b2…

My M4 iPad Pro Magic Keyboard has a version number of 0750.0220.0304???

Same 0750.x.x on my m4 11" IPP. Running 18.7.3. I installed 18.7.3 just before Apple said they couldn't support it on devices that supported 26.

The same on M4 11'' Magic Keyboard: 0750.0220.0304 firmware. iPadOS 18.7.3 installed on the iPad.

My M4 iPad Pro Magic Keyboard also shows 0750.0220.0304. HW version 0007. Seems that the article's numbers are wrong.

I figured-out the issue. At the very last minute, literally after they had released it, Apple discovered 1024.320.771 just wasn't quite ready to truly delight customers, so Apple had to pull it. Believe you me, nobody was more surprised by this than Apple. Fortunately, they discovered the secret and were able to release 0750.0220.0304 in the meantime. Stay tuned for a future update, as part of the greatest pipeline ever!

Seriously now, it is a bit of a head scratcher, because I doubt the author pulled that number out of the sky. I wonder if the wrong version was initially released?

Looks like they updated the article, "Apple today released new firmware for the Magic Keyboards designed for the iPad Pro and iPad Air. The firmware for the M4/M5 iPad Pro model has a version number of 0750.0220.0304, up from the prior 0680.0220.0301 firmware, while the firmware for the M3 iPad Air model has a version number of 0400.0140.0303, up from 0350.0135.0303."

However, it still does not make sense to me. I haven't used my MK in weeks and as soon as I connected my iPad it was 0750. There is no way it updated within the five seconds I went from my home screen to settings to check the version number.

Hope it fixes the annoying issue where you can't type into the Spotlight text field for some reason when you first start typing. The workaround is to type command + space again. Always works the second time. Feel like it started sometime in the macOS 26 betas and has continued on to 26.2
Yes, exactly, it's pretty annoying. Finger's crossed.

I definitely experienced a delay with typing especially in spotlight and using find in preview. This update has fixed that issue for me. Typing isn’t delayed like before in certain input boxes.

I wonder from where they got the other number….

I'm a little puzzled by this article.

"Here's a new firmware, can't tell you what it addressed, can't tell you how to update to it, but I can tell you the arbitrary version numbers and what a Magic Keyboard is".

There's just no actual information here, or am I missing something?

That's pretty much the norm for Apple firmware updates. Rarely are there details on the updates, almost like if they said what was fixed, they'd be confessing they did something wrong in the first place.

I see a weird issue where the keyboard acts like the command key is pressed when it isn’t - so clicking a safari link opens a new tab etc

But maybe not, but I guess it’s solving something.
Same! I can sometimes resolve it by spamming the Command button. Or at least pressing it again.

My M5 11" with magic keyboard is on the 0680.0220.0301. My M1 11" with magic keyboard is on the 0450.0523.0200.

This makes the keyboard truly the keyboard for pros.

But seriously, why can't Apple just have a simple "update firmware" button?

Also, I'm not seeing the stated version number with my M4 iPad Pro (11 in). I see 0750.0220.0304.
@goonie4life9 "A keyboard Truly for the Pros" LOL!!!!!! Having just bought two of these for iPad upgrades (fiancé and I) trust me I needed the laugh 💸💸💸

I show the same Firmware version you posted on my M5 11" fwiw.

Does your keyboards sometimes make a mechanical soud at the hinge while closing? Mostly it does it when not closed for a longer time. It has been exchanged once but then appeared on the new unit again. Don't know if it makes sense to exchange again.
