Apple today released new public beta firmware for the AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 3, and AirPods 4. The firmware is limited to developers and public beta testers at the current time, and it has a build number of 8B5034f. Apple first provided this firmware last week, but it was only available to developers at the time.

Apple today started testing iOS 26.4, so it's possible the new firmware includes features related to the iOS 26.4 beta.

With iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe, Apple added a beta firmware update installation option that's available from the AirPods settings interface when the AirPods are connected to an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, which facilitates beta testing.

Developers and public beta testers can use the beta option to turn on beta downloads.

I might be crazy but I feel like this new firmware made the bass a little stronger, like trying to match the sounds profile if APP3 to APP2. Anyways, I have brand new APP3 in box that I’ve replaced countless times due to static noises, I wonder if this fixed that?

Why do they keep receiving updates? I can understand security fixes but... do earphones seriously need perpetual patching? APP3 is relatively new so it`s understandable... but APP2 & AP4?

Performance doesnt improve, bugs constantly appearing & disappearing, patch contents are kept secret, you have no choice but to accept. This is bit suspicious especially given apple`s reputation of nerfing older products.

If your car was given this treatment.. sometimes it works, sometimes there`s an issue... perpetually taking it to the mechanics for 'updates' which are always kept vague & you have no choice... how would you feel?

I might be all alone here — and that’s fine — but I’d never put unfinished firmware on my AirPods. I have PTSD from the last bad batch of updates for the HonePods (Yes, ancient history by now, but still.)

Yeah, so i don't know if mine even updated mines on version 8B21 should be something on the phone or mac to allow you too upgrade or what not

I usually laugh at the people here trying to force it--but this time my APP3s won't update no matter what I do.

5 MINUTES LATER: And maybe I just checked and the beta update toggle was no longer on. 🤦‍♂️

16 HOURS LATER, with toggle ON: Still no update. This has never happened to me before. Plugging into Mac has always done the trick.

I don't need new firmware for my AirPods Pro 3. Version 3B34 works very well and seems to resolve the occasional crackling audio issue I experienced occasionally with Verison 3B30.

My AirPods Pro 2 show a firmware of 8B34f. Is this the beta?
