The fact you just posted that opinion you claim no one posts disproves your own point.

Beyond that, what I was getting at could be stated as, what "massive departure" was he talking about? Yosemite is just a GUI modified version of Mavericks with a couple of small additions like the changeover mode from iOS App to OSX. In other words, other than the 2D look, what's so radically different about it? Or do you agree the look is the radical change, only that you happen to like the flat-world Crayola look with hard to read text?

Ahh the internet! Where opinion is presented as fact!

Personally I wish they would replace dock icons with iOS ones, i slavishly remake all mine as i hate the current flat ones and I see no reason to clone apps and then have icons that don't match AT ALL!

Those squared, rounded icons got their design for a reason; they represent buttons that are designed for touch screens, plus they are meant to be arranged on a grid on small displays. I definitely wouldn't mix that up just for the looks ... (which I don't prefer over the current free form dock icons, btw...)

So - I am still running Mavericks, and have had no issues. But I have not upgraded to Yosemite. Just curious if it is time to upgrade or if Yosemite is still mired in bugs and problems.
I am running a MBP - Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014. i7 2.8
I also have a late 2010 and an early 2011 MBP both running Mavericks but the graphic cards are starting to fail in both of these.

El Capitan comes out in five days now. I would just wait for that if I were you.

It won't help your GPU issues of course.

I would wait for 10.11 too, but you should know that Apple is fixing the 2011 MBP graphics problems for free, for a limited time, so take it in for repair.

Safari 7.1.8 for mavericks: http://swcdn.apple.com/content/down...897mas9u1zy3ur7d6idc/Safari7.1.8Mavericks.pkg

There isn't a separate link for safari 8.0.8 for yosemite because it is part of the os x 10.10.5 update.

I should point out that a full installer is also available on the mac app store and if you haven't got yosemite yet it would be a good idea to get this now to make a bootable usb for 10.10.5 because soon yosemite will completely disappear from the mac app store altogether once el capitan is released.

You might not need it yet. But when mavericks disappeared when yosemite was released people complained about the lack of availability of it and resorted to getting it through torrents instead. This is not desirable.

So basically even if you don't need it yet, I'd say get yosemite the legitimate way - WHILE YOU STILL CAN!

http://swcdn.apple.com/content/down...897mas9u1zy3ur7d6idc/Safari7.1.8Mavericks.pkg seems to be down. Is there any other alternative?

Thanks!
