Installed the update for Mountain Lion and have just noticed my macbook air (2011) is getting fairly hot and the fans spinning quite loud when i'm just surfing the net (no videos).

Think there might be an issue.

You should check the activity monitor and see what processes are taking up your CPU.

Good Point!!! (I really should have thought of that - lol)

It was the 'Kiesviawifiagent' - I had installed Samsungs Kies software a day or 2 ago when I was trying out the Samsung Galaxy S3.

So I dont think it was the updates fault after all! :)

Seems to have fixed my VGA output problems.

I've been spending most of my time at work for four days, trying to get VGA video out of my MDP. (Brand new 2012 13" MBP)

After some research, realized it was a software issue with ML.

Lucky for me, this when this update was applied, my problems vanished.

scuffgate, navigate, wi-figate and so on ...

I'm excited to see the iOS update that can fix "scuffgate." I wonder if it will work on my 4S to prevent fingerprints...

I'm personally having a problem where Reminders isn't, well, reminding me of things. They show up as hot if I open the app, but they're not dropping the badge or making the sounds. All of which are activated in settings. So there's that.

I've been noticing this as well. Very annoying, because it was one of the few things I had found Siri useful for.

I'm also really happy to see parental controls issues addressed. I just submitted a bug report on this very issue today.

 If I had 64GB of ram id create a RAM disk and install the OS onto it. Imaging the read and write speeds on that thing:D

I just made a 6GB ram disk on my MBPR (has 16GB Ram) and was getting 4GB/s read write speeds haha:D

Can you guys please tell us when the next batch of iPhones will be shipping.... all this other crap is pointless.

The first 10.8.2 update nearly rendered my rMBP unusable. I had do a delete my partition and do a fresh Mountain Lion install. Fixed problem but I'm terrified to update again.

Really happy they fixed the issue with Mail and Japanese. I've found Mail to be a bit easier to use (though maybe less robust) than Outlook, but for those of us that write emails in Japanese every day, it was rather annoying. Hopefully this will fix all of the 文字化け!

iTunes Match

What is so critical in iOS 6.0 that it needs a quick 6.1 fix?

IMO: major iTunes Match issues

1) took away the ability to download single songs easily
2) took away the ability to delete single songs/albums while iTunes Match is on
3) automatically deletes songs on its own (some songs I downloaded on my iPhone 4 under iOS 6 disappeared after 2 days)
3) iTunes Match albums that I start to download over wi-fi will continue to download over the cellular connection (when I leave the wi-fi area) even though "use cellular data" is turned off. This nearly caused me to go over my data plan. Multiple cases of this are on Apple's support pages and Apple support confirmed this bug.
4) of course maps, but that's not strictly an iOS issue

As for 10.8, other people have stated this issues. My MacBook Pro took 2-3 seconds to turn off on 10.7 and now it takes 25-30+ seconds under 10.8 to turn off.

Not sure what is going on Apple's end but things need to get straighted more quickly.

Lame - wiped out my Aperture install. Fortunately not the photos - just deleted the App leaving a question mark in my dock.

Seems like most of the OS animations (changing spaces, Notification Center slide-in) are much smoother for me, no matter what applications I've got open. Really pleased!

That's weird, sorry to hear that. My copy of Aperture (2.1.4) still exists. Maybe it got moved to an "Incompatible Software" folder in the root of your drive?

SSD problem after update

After installing the update, my system shutdown and came on with a folder blinking a question mark. I booted off an OSX Lion restore USB stick and diskutility doesn't even see my SSD anymore, let alone the Serial ATA bus that should be driving it. I managed to put my SSD in an USB enclosure and made it the startup disk (which worked), but when I have the SSD plugged into the mainboard of my mid 2009 MBP 2.53ghz 13" it just doesn't mount... It was running fine! .... Anyone else? I can't seem to find any support articles about it yet.

Edit: Nevermind. I guess my S-ATA cable just gave out at precisely the same time I updated. New one on the way, hopefully fixes the problem.

Sorry for using this topic to expose my issue.

I installed this update and, just like with 10.8.1 and 10.8.2, my Retina MBP downloads, restarts and installs the update but, at the end, says that due to an unexpected error, the update could not be installed. Thing is, the update is actually installed and all is, apparently, good. Anyone with such an issue? Weird that this happened with all Mountain Lion updates so far
