Downloaded and installed, not much difference to the last BETA.

Except that it is blazing fast and the tabs are now back at the bottom of the URL address bar, and the address bar shows page load progression, and the UI seems to be more unified than before. Other than that, not much different:rolleyes:

WARNING: Do not download this if you like tabs on top, they got rid of it! And I had to force-quit it the first time I launched it, because its slow. Overall its seems slower.

NOOO

what! why in the world would they get rid of it! i love tabsontop!!!!

They said something in the keynote about sandboxing and Safari 4. Is that included in this version, or will it be in the one that ships with Snow Leopard?

Tabs on top was nice, except hideous in Vista (disgusting dark blue because of the border).

Using and loving safari 4 :)

I was one of the many complainers about tabs being moved to the top. But i forced my self to use them, and actually it became my favorite feature. The UI was even more out of the way. I do enjoy the speed of this stable version. I notice the differance. Just give us the option to choose!

start the chant.. TABS ON TOP.. TABS ON TOP

Safari TIDY and Safari 4

Those who like using the Safari TIDY SIMBL plugin -- even the 0.2.6 version that's supposed to be OK for Safari 4 beta -- will want to know that the new "real" Safari 4 will refuse to load it, calling it "0.2.5" and saying that this Safari 4 build hasn't been "tested with" it. How soon this will get resolved is anyone's guess. A minor annoyance, but we folk who deal with Web pages for a living like having our page-checking goodies in Safari, too.

SafariStand did not play nice on first crashy launch. removed it and all is well.

i like the intro welcome video... subtle hint to CSS animation power (even though Actionscrip Flash sites are leagues better)

top sites is still lame and completely useless...

restored tabs local. thank you Apple for realizing you were dumb during the top tabs beta. bottom tabs is the correct choice.

Got used to the top-tabs as well. Why not keep the tabs and include an option? That's just ridiculous. Apparently Apple avoids to give users a bit of customization. The new address bar sucks as well, especially the grey RSS button. 8/

But… it's faster than the previous version, a big difference.

lol, a perfect example of how Apple forces you to like something, even if you didn't originally like it. (tabs on top)

Yeah so anyway...I was a fan of the tabs on top from day one. Cant wait until a user discovers a way to re-enable it, like a few previous replies to this thread.

I bet tabs on top is a feature of Snow Leopard's Safari 4. Sucks.

WooHoo!

so, I finally thought about it and figured I may as well start using Safari 4 Beta last week since Safari 4 will be launched today. to get used to teh Top Tabs as that held me back from installing it.
Now I don't need to worry about TopTabs.

Though i never used toptabs it never looked good.

For all those experiencing slow downs, or odd behaviour - uninstall those plugins until compatible versions have been released.

Downloading now...

I only wish they would have done the RSS like Firefox and had a drop down system (instead of (12) )

my personal findings:

*I want the tabs on top (more screen space), really looked forward to that:(

*I can't paste bookmarks using the right click on the mousse(trackpad), I have to paste it using cmd+v or via the menu. :(

*you really have to open a website in a new window if you want to drag it to the top sites, you can't do it from another tab in the same window:(

*I dislike the new "loading" bar, preferred the old one:(

*It's very fast:D

I HATE the stop/reload button in the URL bar. I don't want to move all the way over to the other side to do those things. It doesn't make any sense.

Also, I want the tabs back on top, and I want the stupid "Add to Evernote" button to go away. I don't even have an Evernote account. And everytime Safari opens it is back in the toolbar. I was hoping this would be fixed with the release of the final version.

I'm pissed tbh
