Apple Releases Safari Technology Preview 244 With Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements

Apple today released a new update for Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser that was first introduced in March 2016. Apple designed Safari Technology Preview to allow users to test features that are planned for future release versions of the Safari browser.

Safari Technology Preview 244 includes fixes and updates for Accessibility, Animations, CSS, Forms, HTML, Images, JavaScript, MathML, Media, Networking, Rendering, SVG, Scrolling, Security, Storage, Web API, Web Extensions, Web Inspector, WebAssembly, WebGL, and WebGPU.

The current Safari Technology Preview release is compatible with machines running macOS Sequoia and macOS Tahoe, the newest version of macOS.

The Safari Technology Preview update is available through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences or System Settings to anyone who has downloaded the browser from Apple's website. Complete release notes for the update are available on the Safari Technology Preview website.

Apple's aim with Safari Technology Preview is to gather feedback from developers and users on its browser development process. Safari Technology Preview can run side-by-side with the existing Safari browser and while it is designed for developers, it does not require a developer account to download and use.

Once again Facebook is awful to use after the last Tahoe update.
Comments take forever to post, edits don't show up unless refreshed, notifications are wonky.
Apple needs to make sure that major websites are working properly with their updates

The reason I switched to Firefox was GitHub. I'd always been using Safari and was frustrated by how slow GitHub was. Installing Firefox was a revelation. Turns out Safari is the slowest browser the world could ever conceive. Now using GitHub is a breeze, as well as other websites (with a brilliant ad-blocker).

If you take a short look at the preview website, you will see lots of resolved issues. Probably the issue is, that meta doesn't care to implement workarounds for those issues, because most of their users are using Chrome anyway.

Web standards are defined first, then the are adapted by the browsers or sometimes not. First implementation is often buggy. For newer features you need to test every browser.
 
anyone on iPad Safari have a bug where you click on a link and it opens in a new tab? I think it only happens when I'm using my Magic Mouse. If I hit the red X up top on Safari and open it back up the behavior goes away.

I use Firefox for my mother's accounts and it does work better with some websites, but Safari has useful features I like
