Apple today released the second beta of an upcoming visionOS 1.3 update to developers, allowing them to test new features ahead of the software seeing a public launch. The second visionOS 1.3 beta comes over two weeks after the release of the first beta.

The visionOS beta can be downloaded by going to the Settings app on the device and toggling on developer betas. A registered developer account is required, and Apple recommends making a backup before installing new software.

Apple may make further improvements to Personas, EyeSight, and other features with visionOS 1.3, as well as implement additional bug fixes. No new features were found in the first visionOS 1.3 beta.

The app interface should get overhauled. It could be much more 3d than it is now. Imagine if Pixar made the icons in their 3d style. They don't have to go crazy with it but more depth especially with as high a resolution as this thing has would be impressive compared to plain looking icons no different than your computer.

I would rather hold out my hand palm up, have the app interface pop up out of my hand, and I swipe through it using my other hand. Much faster than focusing and pinching.

why would they release a 1.3 when the 2.0 beta is out and working great and isn't a big leap forward? what could 1.3 possibly have?
Security fixes, a few other bug fixes.

2.0 is not working “great”. For example, try turning on travel mode while on an airplane. Also, hand tap tracking is buggy, you get too many warnings about losing tracking and the environment being too dark, etc, etc. It’s three months until 2.0 gets released and some people need stable software without security bugs. And not everyone should or is going to sign up for a developer account.
