oh bummer, just reading it doesn't work in EU due to the DMA.

Makes me think about the time iTunes just came out, and people tried to circumvent the national barriers by goofing the system with a USA-credit card scheme.

Although I do understand where it's coming from, the idea a car made in Japan doesn't work in USA or EU would be seen as absurd.

I share my live between UK and EU. Phone purchased in Poland but account in the UK with Apple care. No alternative shop but all ios18 goodies are here ( no RCS yet for Three UK though)

I only downloaded Public Beta to my iPad. Seems pretty stable. How's it been with MacOS?
Pretty boring for me. In a good way.

I took a plunge and downloaded betas to iPad, iPhone and Mac.

There’s some sporadic unexpected behavior on the phone but nothing major. Some of the bugs I’ve encountered before (like being unable to end a phone conversation because it would not switch to the right dialog - happened to me once on the beta but also a couple times in the last few years).

iPad and Mac both seem pretty solid.

That said, the ability to project the iPhone screen on Mac seems like a solution in search of a problem, at least for me. It’s a cool feature for which at this time I have no real use.

Having reminders to finally show up on Calendar is pretty nice. And I like the overall icon changes in dark mode.

That's still useful to this day. When traveling I needed to download the Vodafone app but it wasn't available globally in app store. Or LA transit app. Or NYC metro. Everybody makes US only, so you need a secondary US app store account for these. Even Claude app, I have a Claude account but there is no app in my country.

Are the Apple Intelligence features for the Mail app available now?
I haven't seen them yet, but I am only using public betas. I don't want to plunge as far down as dev betas. So far, Mail is still the Sonoma version for Public Beta 2. Not sure which version you're running, but that's the scoop.
