Apple's hit sci-fi series "Silo" is returning for a third season starting Friday, July 3, and a final trailer was released today.

"Silo" follows the lives of 10,000 people living in an underground bunker to escape the seemingly toxic wasteland outside. The people are unaware of why the silo was built, and those who seek the truth face deadly consequences. Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette Nichols, an engineer who attempts to unravel the mysteries surrounding the silo following a loved one's murder. The show is based on Hugh Howey's best-selling book series, and it is one of the most popular original series on the Apple TV streaming service.

The third season will have 10 episodes, with one released every Friday through September 4.

Apple says the third season "continues the saga of a dystopian society."

"In the present, Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) survives her forced 'cleaning' but returns with memory loss as the silo recovers from rebellion and faces a dangerous new threat," says Apple. "Meanwhile, in the 'Before Times,' journalist Helen Drew (Jessica Henwick) and Congressman Daniel Keene (Ashley Zukerman) uncover a conspiracy that pulls them into a chain of events with catastrophic, irreversible consequences."

Apple already renewed "Silo" for a fourth and final season as well.

"With the final two chapters of 'Silo,' we can't wait to give fans of the show an incredibly satisfying conclusion to the many mysteries and unanswered questions contained within the walls of these silos," said showrunner and executive producer Graham Yost, regarding the third and fourth seasons of the show.

First season was very good, if a little slow through the middle. Second one I have to admit I bailed on halfway through. Not a fan of a slow burn but the pacing for the second season especially was torturous. Could have condensed all of season two into a few episodes.

Might give it another go as the production values are superb and I like the mystery, but those middle cluster of episodes in both seasons were painful.

Watched the first season and dropped it at the start of the second, just too long for my liking. “Paradise” (2025) did a much better job with a similar plot concept, IMO.

I was really waiting for season three, but the trailer kind of diminished my desire. Juliette's memory loss is the kind of narrative trick to prevent the story from unfolding and allow the platform to stretch the season to the max. At least it is what I can infer by watching this trailer.

what's your tv?

should be an easy fix
It’s a Samsung Frame TV. Honestly, it’s not a great panel, but I do very much like the “art” function. Blacks are washed out but also show some weird “bruising” lighter spots when looking at very dark scenes. I’ll surely replace it at some point, but for now it’s doing the job...

First season was passable, second season went completely off the rails from the book just like pretty much EVERY ATV adaptation (See Foundation, WondLa etc) and I bailed after three eps.
Years of this behavior from Apple and I'm still confused as to why they spend millions on the rights to these books just to abandon them and tell their own weaker, trope-filled story instead.

long season short - someone pressed the wrong icon on their liquid glass screen circa 2027, and it all went downhill from there. if you need it retold in weekly 36 minute installments, I doubt you'll learn much.

I enjoyed both seasons. Season 2 really does require your full attention to stay engrossed. No multi-screening will do. There’s a lot of little things that you miss by just listening. Once I put the phone down I got sucked in.

oh yeah my mom has one of those

the "art" really does look good

I'm guessing you've tried playing with contrast, black level and gamma....
