Installed and failed

Just get the spinning beach ball and an .exec file in the dock, going to restart again.

UPDATE 2nd restart and it works. I can now set Half life 2 E2 to max resolution 1920x1200, with everything maxed out, smooth as silk!!

I wonder if they hid the 5770, and 5870 drivers in this update.

If so maybe they will be available for purchase in the store soon.

Downloaded it, I have not noticed any improvements though.. Apple should release graphic updates more often, because they can make a huge difference... On the Windows side the updates can make substantial difference for some video cards.. especially the newer ones.. and I'm sure it is the same for Mac OS, theres always and I mean always room for improvement when it comes to drivers.

It just fixed the tearing issues I was having after closing Sims 3 on my mid-2010 MacBook pro 13"! That should be added to the list

YAYAYAYAY THAT JUST MADE MY DAY! That was driving me crazy!

my guess is that the early 09 imac with 4850 is supported too since they are supporting late 09 which also has the 4850?

50-50

I don ;t know about the games or whatever.. I hope this weekend I can get my hands on SC2 and see.

moving spaces around its awful painful.

Didn't improve my Cinebench 11 scores back to 10.6.3 numbers... actually a bit slower than the new nVIDIA drivers but faster than the base 10.6.4... I'll have to check this out in Portal later.

Sucks doesn't it? 3 Years old and already forgotten.

I do agree with you on that one. Would be nice for Apple to offer at least this software update for every Mac from at least 5 years back. But to Apple and the rest of the tech industry, a 5 year old computer is something Fred Flintstone would have in his cave.

If you have certain NVidia cards, this update is for you. It may not make a difference on all laptops with NVidia cards, because not all laptops had the issues this is supposed to address to begin with. My 2009 Macbook Pro never had the framerate issues, so this update didn't do much.

It includes new ATI drivers, but really it's to fix the NVidia issues.

I'm hoping this might fix the intermittent freezing issues many 2-3 year old iMacs have been seeing since 10.6.3. I'm still running 10.6.2 because of it...

I've been seeing that too, especially with spaces. Got really bad with 10.6.4

Apple seems to eliminate any system older than 2 years from further support :(

This is a graphics driver update for all Macs running Snow Leopard, not just the ones mentioned. They only mentioned the ones they did because those are particular problems that they've addressed.

This update almost certainly contains new ATI, NVIDIA and Intel graphics drivers for Mac OS X, the equivalent of those that you'd find on Windows.
