Know exactly what you mean, My 930c has been a solid and reliable printer for years and now with SL photo's print really bad.

I had the same problem with the 990cxi.

The Gutenprint drivers are poor quality for anything other than plain text. Try the foomatic drivers - they are less configurable but print qualty is a vast improvement.

Which version do you have? Version 5.2.4 is out. Not sure if that'll make a difference. I like the foomatic drivers (like pxlmono & HPIJS) too

After Snow Leopard install iTunes only prints in B&W, why?

I installed Snow Leopard on my recent model iMac and my very new HP OfficeJet 7500 series printer stopped printing iTunes album covers in color, and only prints them in B&W. I can save the document to pdf and then it will print in color. Why is that, and what are some solutions?

That means - 2 month after I purchase a brand new printer from HP it doesn't what it says on the box - scanning.

Printing is fine btw.
Did you reset the printing system, delete all the older HP OEM software for Leopard (if it was on there) and install the driver set? My AIO would not scan and now will after resetting the printing system.

I still cannot "Scan to Computer" from the AIO panel buttons like I could in Leopard, which means I have to initiate scans from my laptop instead of being able to do it from the printer, which was totally awesome.

That issue has really been making me angry. I would think they would have fixed it. I want to be able to scan from the printer also. Guess not.

I have to comment.

1. Just because you're having issues doesn't mean that everybody is.
2. The fact that you typed "i-Tunes" with a hyphen speaks volumes about your knowledge and attention to detail that we can expect.

I'm sorry you're having such a lousy experience. My MacBook Pro started crashing hourly this week, so I'm not a happy camper at all. Really takes the wind of my sails (sales?) for Apple products when they are just as unreliable and fragile as Windows machines.

jeez you guys - 'OldWatery' and 'coolfactor' - simply do a fresh install of 10.6 by holding down the option key as you restart you Mac and select the install disc from the ensuing screen to start up from. (this works whether you are starting up from and internal or external drive)
update immediately to 10.6.2 and the ensuing updates via SW Update, and then away you go.

as I frequently rebuild Macs, I have the afore mentioned updates sitting on a flash drive which makes for faster rebuilds.

Snow Leopard is hands down the sleekest and best OS from Apple - period.
though I confess to having a few hassles in the early stages of adoption.

the problems seems to arise from simply installing 10.6 straight over the top of 10.5 or 10.4 as recommended by Cupertino, whereas the method mentioned above seems to solve all ills.

the drastic but fail-safe method is to do a backup of precious files - home folder - take a screenshot of your Applications folder, then erase you HDD and follow the instructions from the top.
it'll take you an hour or 3 but it's a most satisfying outcome.

hope this helps a little ;)

Yo c-00-l-factor.
Why not make it personal :p
Just because I put a damn hyphen in iTunes says nothing about who or what I am.
And I don't recall saying that anyone else was having issues. Like I can't express an opinion that differs with yours.

Thanks but that is what I did...jeez:p
And as I frequently rebuild Macs and have been doing so for over 25 years, IMO this was a very unstable upgrade straight out of the box.
