Agreed with all the battery life issues with this round of betas. Barely get through the day with a full charge and Apple battery case on a 6.

Thanks for all the reviews. As of now 10.3 seems to be the first update where I will not be part of the beta testing.

Battery life is just too important, if not the most important thing. Dont forget that with shorter battery life also come more charging cycles thus shorter overall battery health.

I'd just like to note that the APFS in-place conversion probably isn't happening on iPhone 5 devices at all. I have one and was curious to see if there was a way to check. One of the features advertised for APFS was higher resolution for file timestamps. So I wrote a little test app and ran it on different devices. It quickly creates a series of files and compares their "modified" timestamps. It seems like the time resolution for iPhone 5 running iOS 10.3 beta is still 1 second, which would suggest it's still using HFS. Link to the app: https://github.com/catnapgames/TestIOSAPFSCheck (if you have Xcode you can build and run it yourself, developer account is no longer required when running on your own device).

After just updating, this beta has still been very slow and boggy, choppy animations.
I don' t know which iphone model you have, but on my iphone 7 pkus 128gb, all ios 10.3 betas were very fast and smooth. Battery life was indeed a little less, but for me great beta' s.

iOS 10.3 PB3 on iPhone 7 Plus, in setting the search bar don't work. It either don't show you the search item or crash the setting app and force to home screen.

Eg: use the search bar and type in "Wifi", once you tap it will highlight in grey the wifi column and crash, back to home screen. Another example: search music, tap and nothing happen, by right it should go into music setting (instead when you scroll down the setting to music, you will see music highlighted in grey that all)

I have already send the bug report via the feedback app, hope it get fix in beta 4, it's quite annoying to see basic feature like search not working properly.

Apparently not a universal bug as I just installed the third beta and have tried the Settings search numerous times, including your "WiFi" example and no failure occurred. I'm on a 6S Plus; battery life was pretty poor on the 2nd PB. It remains to be seen on the new seed.

My 6S Plus crashes when you click on one of the searched items.

I'm not seeing these battery issues others are. I wonder if they're just not allowing some time for the phone to sort itself after an OS upgrade?

I've been up since 7:30am, it's now 5 hours later, and with my normal usage the phone is at 88%.

Battery life is much better for me with beta 3. Still needs tweaking, but at least I can make it through the day now.

I have performed the same several times, still with no failures. So, again, apparently not a universal bug. Battery life seems improved, but not what I was getting in 10.2.1. I had my battery tested in an Apple Store yesterday, and it passed with still healthy stats.

2/26/17: Nope. Battery life is still dramatically reduced from what I had in 10.2.1 I go consistently below 50% by the end of the day whereas with 10.2.1 (and earlier) I rarely dipped below 70%. This is on a 6S Plus.

This doesn't happen on my phone either (7 Plus).

I hope iOS 10.3 fixes the iPhone 6/6S/7 battery drain issue. But I think 10.3 won't arrive until middle to late March 2017, about the same time the new "conventional" iPad models (the successors to the iPad Pro 9.7" and 12.9" models) arrive.

The first two 10.3 betas have been buggy and slow, lots of choppy animations and very poor battery life. This one seems to be a little bit of an improvement, but still way below where 10.2.1 was.

I had to roll back to 10.2.1 to get better battery life myself. Normally, my phone is about 85-90% at the end of the day. With 10.3, it was around 45%.

The battery on my launch iphone 6 128GB has been draining faster than ever. Every morning after a full charge the night before, Ive been finding it with anywhere from 92-96% whereas before it would stay at 100%. I have turned off all 3rd party notifications and had background refresh disabled since the beginning. Background refresh is a huge battery drain although it hardly affects my iPad Air. I think it's definitely time to visit Apple for a battery replacement in any case.

As far as APFS. This is a pretty big deal. I'm glad it's being rolled out on iOS before the more mission critical macOS although it has been an option in Sierra. For sure it will be a big improvement over HFS+ especially with SSDs but I just know that this transition will cause more than a few headaches and lots of angry customers if not rolled out properly.
