How are your external screens connected? USB-C(actually thunderbolt) to the thunderbolt port on the screens?
Because that works for me without a problem.
USB C to C (non thunderbolt) screen knows something is plugged in but macOS doesn't detect it. Same issue on both my M1 mini and M1 MacBook Pro 2021. USB C to HDMI is detected but is distorted with signal cutting in and out and a high pitched noise from the monitors speakers.

Thanks for the info. In my case it is all thunderbolt. Seems like the USB-C DP implementation has some problem then. Just make sure to open a ticket and report to Apple.
I am pretty sure you know what you are doing but just to eliminate any problems: Did you set the Option "Allow accessories to connect" in thge Privacy & Security panel in System Settings to Always (even just for a while to test) to see if perhas the ports are just being blocked by the system.

I have reported it every release since the issue occurred. Allow accessories to connect does not effect external displays which is noted in Apples release notes.

Just wondering, how many people actually use FaceTime for collaboration at work?

Most of the companies, prefer paid services where any collaboration platforms - like Freeform - are actually prohibited to ensure no data leaks.

I like the idea of the App, and I will give it a try - however I am still very curious how many will actually use it in professional/work related tasks. 🤔

Just put Freeform on the App Store. It's not part of the OS. I've enough bloatware as it is

Distributing it with the OS greatly simplifies Federighi's release schedule, which should hopefully lead to fewer bugs. They don't have to test whether Freeform 1.0.1 works with macOS 12.6 Monterey, for example.

Ugh, this update and the last few haven't shown up. :/ Been trying through terminal as well with

sudo softwareupdate -i -a

Anyone else have any ideas?

Try re-installing the beta profile.
Isn't that option supposed to be here?

Are you on Intel?

I have been having issues with Wifi since installing 16.1. Anyone else having the same issue, that is wifi dropping off constantly? Hoping a new beta will finally fix it.

Try re-installing the beta profile.
Tried doing that, too. Getting Gatekeeper errors. Disabled Gatekeeper via terminal: sudo spctl --master-disable, entered password and restarted. Checked to make sure the install software from "Anywhere" option displays under Security and Privacy. Then, attempted to install the profile again - Gatekeeper still prevents installation.

I swear, these releases are getting worse every time. Tim Cook and co. needs to think about doing a Snow Leopard-like bug fix release. 🤯

Does anyone know if Universal Control is more stable? I've been having a lot of disconnections after upgrading to ventura using two mbps (not m1)

Use this command to allow Public Beta:

MacOS Public Beta Code:

sudo /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Seeding.framework/Resources/seedutil enroll PublicSeed

Then use this to install PB beta 3:
sudo softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer

Installer will be located on your Application folder

Has anyone noted bluetooth improvements with the betas?

Since installing Ventura, my 2019 i9 iMac has become sluggish in detecting the Magic Keyboard. This was not an issue before Ventura.

Last week I erased the ssd (recovery mode, Disk Utility) and installed a fresh copy of macOS Ventura. I also reset the SMC and PRAM. No difference.

I have noticed several discussion forums mentioning the same issue. Hopefully Apple is aware of the issue and will get this bug put to sleep.

Others are also reporting this issue:

Has anyone checked if this update fixes the bug that prevents screen sharing from another computer on the network?

How many betas do these usually have? Wondering whether it will release next week (before Thanksgiving) or early December. I'm waiting for its release to upgrade from Monterey.

In Calendar, using an O365 account, I can no longer set an event to "Out of Office"; only "Free," "Busy" or "Tentative." I think this has been since Monterey came out. Anyone else? Any suggestions?

Interestingly, the options are complete in the Calendar app on my iPhone.

How's ventura shaping up?
I'll install it this december when 13.1 will be released.
Can't speak for others but it's been a mixed bag for me. Most things are working as expected. A few are not. Wifi connections to remembered networks I use every day take a bit longer to connect sometimes. And I cannot connect to my employer's networked printers at all since upgrading one of my two Macbooks to Ventura. The other Macbook, still running Monterey 12.6.1, continues to connect to the networked printers just fine.

The new features of Ventura have not really improved my workflows or general usability of my Macbook, so it's been all downside for me. (Fortunately, not TOO much downside.)

I think I'm going to start doing what you do - wait until X.1 to install a major new macOS version.
