The Digital Clock in Standby Mode seems to have been updated with a gradient in night mode, just like it has when showing full color.

I can’t check for update, like some others have mentioned. I’ve done a couple of hard resets, to no avail.

This is the first time I’ve had any kind of issue like this, and I’ve used PBs for years, since they first became available.

I, also, had problems checking for the update. I force quit Settings and still had the problem. Continued refreshed eventually caused it to appear. I also had some other flakiness in Safari — pages that wouldn’t load until multiple tries — on the previous beta.

In today’s public beta and the previous one (didn’t install those prior), I can’t print to any of our printers. This is on an iPad Pro 12.9 16GB/2TB. My iPad Pro 12.9 8GB/512GB with the latest regular release (non-beta) prints fine.

Edit: Otherwise, my experience on these two betas has been quite good.

Unable to check for update just like yesterday. I’ve been involved with beta before. Profile only needed 16.3 and older.

Had the issue. Power down the phone and then power back on. That worked for both phones and the iPad at my place. Like everyone else I have never had the issue before in a beta cycle. Hope it helps.

Anyone using the beta having any issues? I'm always hesitant, but beta 3 is usually stable enough to start using.
I dont even know why its still in beta, it was already perfect on beta 2. There is nothing to fix or iomprove.

Update: mine finally worked after a few hours. No idea what changed.

Updated both iOS and watchOS.

I’ll followup with Apple and reach out to Toyota. The problem still exists in public beta 3. 🙁

both companies are likely to tell you it's beta software, of which Toyota is most assuredly not going to do anything about currently.

they (rightfully so) will tell you to reset to a current stable OS to check against. Apple might be able to use the feedback for development, Toyota's not going to do anything about it

piggybacking off this for anyone else reading, as I searched through here: like one other person, didn't need to reboot, but re-trying it a bunch of times eventually popped up the update, with a cool-looking new UI.

Yeah I’d love to know this, too. From the reports (and from speaking with users of the beta), the betas seem a bit rougher this year.

I’ve taken the plunge on a secondary device, but not my primary device

Given PB3 is the same as DB5, the iOS 17 betas don’t seem to be stable enough yet, still too many bugs, which as someone noted - ooh, a beta having bugs, consider me shocked they said.

Well… the option is just not to use the beta and stick with 16.6 for now, and just wait - the official iOS 17.0 is just 4/5 or so weeks away, after all…

Beta 3 runs very smooth thus far. iOS17 is for me personally the most exiting iOS upgrade. Very excited about it.
Glad to see a good report. We’ll hopefully public beta updates are weekly now… still waiting to read a few more reports to decide whether I take the PB3 plunge, or wait until PB4, presumably next week.

How the phone’s heat? This was, by accounts I’ve read in various places, a problem with DB4/PB2.

Thanks :)

For those not getting the update to show, and it just says try again, hit the top item, Automatic Updatea, which takes you in to that menu, exit back out and you should see the update info. Worked for me twice, my iphone and my iPad So wasn’t a fluke.

CarPlay has been awful up til now. Interface freezes, phone calls have choppy audio. (2020 Camry) I’m hoping this update will fix these problems. I’ve tried to report all problems to Apple going along.
Initially CarPlay was still wonky with PB 3, but doing a hard reset on my iPhone and a forced reboot of my car’s nav/audio system fixed the choppy audio. I’m on the road for four hours tomorrow. I’ll put it through its paces.
