Any audio...Stereo/PCM, Dolby Digital, Atmos...I'm hoping Apple will push out a bug fix for this before my return period expires. I don't want to return this model of Apple TV again but if I have to then I do...I will need to purchase last years Apple TV 4K model instead.

I could not agree any more. It’s ridiculous that a 2022 device, that has an HDMI 2.1 port on it doesn’t support Hi-Rez lossless. That’s just absolutely nuts.
I mean, you need a DAC on a Mac to support Hi-Res Lossless, so I'm not sure why you think the AppleTV should have it built in.
That's strange. I am not experiencing audio issues with the latest software update. It seems like something made it incompatible with your TV. Or... what kind of audio output do you use in the Settings -> Audio configuration? I leave it all to the default, so the ATV doesn't process my audio.
I ended up returning the Apple TV 4K 2022 model and got last years model. No more sound issues. Same sound settings on my tv, and soundbar…got last years Apple TV…no more sound issues.
My 2021 4k Apple TV will not install 16.1. I have reset it to factory settings and tried it on different wifi networks, tried it via ethernet and basically everything and the update fails every time. I am hoping the next update it will install or else I have an Apple TV who will not update anymore. Very strange.
