Apple today released tvOS 26.3, the third update to the tvOS operating system that came out last fall. tvOS 26.3 is available for the Apple TV 4K and the Apple TV HD, and it comes two months after Apple released tvOS 26.2.

tvOS 26.3 can be downloaded using the Settings app on the ‌‌Apple TV‌‌. Open up Settings and go to System > Software Update to get the new software. ‌‌Apple TV‌‌ owners who have automatic software updates activated will be upgraded to tvOS 26.3 automatically.

The tvOS 26.3 update includes bug fixes and security improvements, with full release notes for tvOS available through Apple's tvOS support document.

Nope…
This is the first thing I always check after updates.
Even if they ever allow it, I presume it would be on the newer/latest model…
I hope they bring that out soon…..
Hope dies last…..
Was it ever confirmed that it will support all the HD audio formats? Haven’t been able to find much info on it, including on this site for some reason (it came to the Mac but no mention of HD audio formats):

I wish they’d increase the bitrate for iTunes content too, Apple could absolutely kill UHD blu ray if they wanted to

I get a kick out of the “don’t buy” buyer’s guide link. The current gen is still a good product even if it’s a few years old.

The reason for the "don't buy" is because Apple never cuts its price no matter how old it is. Imagine forking out good money on it for years-old tech only for a newer one to come out a few weeks or months later for the same price.

I agree however I know they do that when a new one is supposed to be released very soon. It would suck to buy it nd then two weeks later a new one comes out for the same price or less.

I’m actually excited for this. I’ve been having to reboot mine almost daily because it freezes and lags.

Maybe not TVos related but I really, really hope this fixes the matter bug between the Hue bridge pro and Apple Home (HomeKit). Don’t know why but since last week all hue accessories are unresponsive. Seems a bug in the matter codex between Hue and Apple. Which seems like only Apple can fix. Hopefully 🤞🏽

I will never get over Software Update being under "System" when everywhere else in the Applesphere it's under "General."

interesting you mention this, after I updated my Apple TV today my home app prompted me to setup my adaptive lights. And then to my horror I discovered that all the lightbulbs connected to my Philips Hue hub have been renamed and moved to the living room, destroying my scenes and my automations! Coincidence?

When you guys talk about how things are faster/slower for you after this update it would be helpful to know what Apple TV you own. Just sayin’

Since yesterday evening, all the iPhone owners arround the AppleTV get irritating aka 20+ times a dialog if we want to bind and create / install a account onnthe AppleTV. How can I get rid of that dialog. Even during a phone call and I want to check my agenda its popup. Soooooo anoying, bsides we do have accounts already on it.
Any solutions?

Maybe if it’s in the range of new car pricing but how much do you expect them to discount a $120 device before its replacement in on the market? Why should they when they can replace the unit for the same price and unload the older model to a discounter or for warranty replacements?

I love all my appletvs and when I buy the next one that comes out I’ll cycle one of my 4k’s to a spare bedroom or relatives house so long as it’s not a useless update like adding a frickin camera.

tvOS 26.3 appears to have bricked my Apple TV HD 😢
The usual reset procedures (including DFU) aren't working - flashes apple logo a couple times in a loop, and is unresponsive when attached to a Mac.
