Still waiting for my remote firmware to update so maybe this is where my problem stems from, but is high speed scrubbing (by swiping left/right on the remote) gone for anyone else with today's tvOS update? I just tried it with videos from Netflix and Hulu and scrubbing doesn't seem to work. Hoping this is fixed with the firmware update?

You have to now pause video first, Apple Changed this because a bunch of babies complained they accidentally scrubbed video. There was a simple solution to this but it is easier to complain

Anyone else finding the iCloud Photo Library support to be horrendously slow? Also it's not showing album folders; only albums at the root level.

This seems half-baked; I'm going to turn it off as it's not worth wasting storage on the ATV4 for something that doesn't work very well. :(

Oh wow... Thanks for the info. I never really had a problem with it before, you just hit the menu button and it's fine. I suppose this isn't end of the world but it'd be nice if this were an option you could choose.

I believe you are correct. "Best quality available" was not there when I originally set up my Apple TV in November. I assume this means that it will output BETTER formats than DD 5.1 if/when they are available in the source material (i.e. perhaps something like DTS-HD, True HD, Atmos, etc.).

I have noticed the audio sounding slightly better than usual, but I could be wrong. Interesting.

I don't think it stores them on Apple TV, at least according to the settings. Has anyone found a way of setting the iCloud photos library as a screensaver? I mean the entire thing, it would be really good to be able to do this but I can't figure out how to continue when I try to select it.

I'm not worried about slowness today. With millions of iOS users hammering Apple's servers and ISPs around the world as we write this on update days, I tend to withhold my judgment for a few days or so. But, that's just me...

You have a point. Maybe I'll turn it on again in a few days to see if it's better.

Lack of album folders kind of sucks, though. I have all my albums organized into folders to avoid having to scroll a lot to find things. The ATV only shows the albums on the root level. :(

Unfortunately slideshows are still broken with larger slideshows. Instead of continuing through all the slides, part way through it loops back to a seemingly random spot previously.

I'm really disappointed with the iCloud Photo Library update. I was really hoping that it would support search for faces like it does on other iOS devices. We have over 20,000 photos and it is near impossible to find what you're looking for on the Apple TV unless it's a recent date. Hopefully Apple will update it soon to support search and iPhoto Events.

I'm SO glad they changed this. It was so annoying that just *touching* the remote wrong as you picked it up would pause the video and start scrubbing. Sometimes we'd be watching a movie and I'd accidentally brush the remote on couch next to me and it would pause. Really bad design.

Now you actually have to click a button or the trackpad to initiate scrubbing. This makes a lot more sense.

So has support for the ATV 1 through 3 been abandoned? We haven't had an update since man discovered fire.

And here's the info from Apple:

Apple TV Software Update 9.2

  • Dictation: Press

on your remote and use your voice to quickly enter text on screen. This feature requires English, French, German, Japanese, or Spanish as the system language.
  • Siri for App Store: Search for apps by title, category, or developer.1
  • Additional Siri language support:1 Siri now understands Spanish in the US and French in Canada. If English is the language that you use for Siri and you live in Australia, Canada, the UK, or the US, you can choose Australian English, UK English, or US English.
  • Photos: Enjoy your iCloud Photo Library, including Live Photos, on the big screen.
  • Folders: For easier access, create folders to organize your apps.
  • Bluetooth keyboards: Use your Apple Wireless Keyboard to control your Apple TV.
  • Conference Room Display: Lock Apple TV in Conference Room Display for business and education environments. Show onscreen instructions for how to use AirPlay.
tvOS 9.2 also includes an update for your Apple TV Remote. This update adds compatibility with Samsung sound bars and improves general performance. Your Apple TV will attempt to update your Apple TV Remote once a day when both devices are idle. After the update completes, the firmware version number in Settings > Remotes and Devices > Remote will read 0x0245.
