What, like thunderbolt, displayport, and lightning cables?what's next, cables having firmware?
If there are any cases with batteries built in then they already do….Firmware updates for iPhone cases when?
I'm sure some of Apple's cables have firmware. But there are no updates, right?what's next, cables having firmware?
Everything has some chip with firmware. Your electric toothbrush has firmware. Most are just not updatable.Wait, even the chargers have firmware???
Well guess today I learned
I didn’t realize there was a 25 watt version. I’m guessing this only works with the newest iPhone.Thats the 15w model, not the 25w
No, the update is just for the Apple branded MagSafe charger of that specific model. Apple is pushing out an update. Third-party MagSafe chargers would have to be updated by whoever makes the charger. I seriously doubt those will ever receive updates.does it include third party MagSafe?
*goes to Apple store with any problem*I’ll have to get this updated when I get home. I don’t want to be charging on a charger that’s not updated!
You’re not wrong. To be fair it’s because they don’t want to spend hours troubleshooting a bug that was patched three updates ago.*goes to Apple store with any problem*
“Do you have the latest software installed sir?“
Then you don't have the Apple 25W magsafe charger (2024).148 newest? My current firmware is 258!
They didn't add "adaptive charging" -- the feature in iOS 26 is "adaptive power" and uses the analysis provided by Battery Intelligence to optimize power *consumption*, by, for example, postponing system maintenance tasks until a time that you're not using the phone.Maybe this has something to do with the new adaptive charging they've added to iOS26
Yes, that’s kind of the point of the magnets. Also, can you use your phone to watch movies whilst it's charging on a magsafe?
I see your side eye 😄Yes, that’s kind of the point of the magnets.
Not wall mounted but I’ve got a combined iPhone, watch and AirPod charger crafted out of wood which I bought on Etsy. The iPhone charges via MagSafe at a slight angle (for visibility). No reason why you could have something similar in a wall mount.Does anyone have any wall mounted magsafe chargers? I'm looking for options, even if it's a block of wood with a cutout that I can screw to a bedside.

Thank you. I’ll check it out. Other half lays in bed and watches YouTube endlessly at night, so I’m thinking of some way the phone could stick to the bedside and charge too.Not wall mounted but I’ve got a combined iPhone, watch and AirPod charger crafted out of wood which I bought on Etsy. There a few styles on Etsy

The reason I ask is because I notice most magsafe chargers AT HOME have them placed horizontally, whilst CAR chargers do provide for them to be mounted vertically, typically for GPS etc. I've also read reviews stating that the phone gets very hot if it's used whilst charging, so I wasn't sure if this is something that is best avoided or not.
So I thought I'd ask. Very kind of you to respond even though it was laced with sarcasm 😁😁😁
