The Nintendo Switch doesn't adhere to USB-C spec well. That's why it has the potential to burn out chargers or itself with anything that's not Nintendo-certified. I've tried it with a few chargers, and it burnt one out, and works with a few others. Getting video to pass through will probably be a different story. Not like you need to output 4k60 with it though.

Does this work with the Nintendo Switch?

I cannot understand an adaptor which, on my 2017 MBP with its 2 USB-C ports, only provides a pass-through instead of at least providing one additional USB-C. I too am thoroughly unimpressed with the promises USB-C was supposed to fulfill. I have the earlier version of this adaptor.

If Apple would be design driven company, they would design their dongles, so you could differentiate A2119 from A1621 without magnifying glass.

In my mind the thing killing usb-c adoption is the lack of usb-c to multiple usb-c hubs, everything converts to usb-a 3.0. I heard intel will have a chip next year that will finally allow this, but who knows for sure how much longer it will be until they are working products using it.
Anybody seen 1-to-3 tb3 hubs? I'd need one...

But isn’t the video output sill limited to a 4:3 aspect on a 19:9 aspect monitor, whether HDMI or AirPlay? Hell, even an iPhone will take advantage of the full 16:9 aspect display.

Well... yeah.

I bought it yesterday.
It delivers only UHD (3840 by 2160) at 30Hz on my MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018, i9, 32gb, OSX 10.14.6 and Windows 10 1903),

but 3840x2160 at 60Hz on my iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd Generation).

Both are on the same Monitor (Samsung 65", qh65h) using the same HDMI cable ?

Can you get 4Kp60 and USB 3 speeds at the same time on your 2018 iPad Pro?

Strange you can’t get 4Kp60 on that 2018 15” MacBook Pro.

Meanwhile I managed it a little bit on the MacBook Pro - kind of - "monitor preferences --> Option-Click on scaled .." let me choose 60hz but only for 3840x2160 or 1920x1080 ...

No chance on bootcamp.

I did not test the usb-speed because I own M2 thunderbolt 3 external drives .

2160p60 support is all I was expecting. Good that it supports it.

Can anyone confirm that this would allow us to use FCPX with HDR capable monitors like a Atomos Ninja V to grade HDR content?
Exactly what I am trying to do—but no luck so far. I have a brand new 2019 iMac (i9/Vega Pro 48 GPU), an LG 27UK850 HDR monitor and this new A2119 adapter. I get 4k @ 60Hz, but no HDR signal.

Strangely, if I use the same adapter/cable/monitor with my 3rd gen iPad Pro, it works and I get an HDR signal on the monitor. So it seems the iMac is the problem. Super annoying as Apple claims this should work.

I even tried installing a beta of Catalina—didn't work either.

Would i be able to connect my ipad 3rd gen to a 4k monitor at 60hz and connect a USB audio interface (focusrite) using this simultaneously??
