Apple today released a visionOS 1.0.2 update for the Vision Pro headset, according to developer Nicolás Álvarez. The software comes a week after the release of the visionOS 1.0.1 update.

There is no word on what is included in visionOS 1.0.2, and while the Vision Pro has yet to be released, review units are in the hands of members of the media, and they will be able to download and install this update.

visionOS 1.0.2 addresses a WebKit vulnerability that Apple says may have been actively exploited. The issue was also fixed in visionOS 1.0.1 for developers, but the fix is in visionOS 1.0.2 for those updating from visionOS 1.0.

It is worth noting that Vision Pro owners will have a day one update to install this software when they begin receiving their headsets on Friday.

The Vision Pro will ship with version one of the visionOS software, but we are expecting to see visionOS 2 with new features at WWDC in June.

It is likely that this is a small bug fix update, but it is worth noting that Vision Pro owners will have a day one update to install when they begin receiving their headsets this Friday.
Bet it's fairly comprehensive as far as minor tweaks from initial feedback. I still find it odd that Apple doesn't have VisionOS mentioned on their News and Updates - Software Releases - Apple Developer yet?

To be expected these days.... I imagine some of the units have been waiting around a while in transit/storage.

It's a pity about the reported battery runtime... lets hope they tier it in a second or third gen... so that those of us just wanting a screen for watching moviesand TV can buy a cut down version that just plugs straight into Apple TV or Mac.

WWDCs from now on will probably become longer than ever, as visionOS is certainly going to receive a lot of major updates in its first few years of existence. I hope they won't cut time for other OSes like macOS, which already doesn't get that much attention.

This is pretty normal, if a tad embarrassing that its not a 1.0.1 release...but we need to shame Apple for continuing to release updates without any notes about what they're fixing.
It happens a lot with many products and even Apps too.... many say misc bugs and optimisations without stating what they are. Lots of updates optimise efficiency and battery runtime too without stating so.

Day 1 fixes are pretty standard, before people overreact though I am sure they will anyway.
My favorite is when any kind of update comes out (you especially see it with firmware updates) people scream about how "back in the old days you didn't need updates!"

Uh, yea ya did you just didn't know about it because consumers were stuck with whatever version they bought, bugs and all. Issues were updated on later product runs.

Apple fine tuning after the YouTube reviews
Not a chance. The Youtube reviews were all pointing significant major OS changes (digital persona, multiple macOS windows, etc). Apple probably planed this update before the YouTube reviews went out, and they would certainly not have the time to fix anything that was mentioned in those reviews in 24 hours

Agreed. It seems like as big as Apple is, that they are spread thin on OS development. iOS gets the massive bulk. iPad is left to flounder. Since visionOS is built upon iPadOS I wonder if iPadOS will get significant changes or it’ll be left behind even more.

Every day one game release I’ve purchased for as long a I remember has needed an update as soon as it went into the console, so yeah, this is probably the least shocking thing I’ve seen this week.
