Apple today released watchOS 10.0.2, a minor update to the watchOS 10 operating system that came out earlier this month. watchOS 10.0.2 comes five days after the release of watchOS 10.0.1, another minor update.

According to Apple's release notes for the update, watchOS 10.0.2 includes bug fixes and important security updates for the Apple Watch.

watchOS 10‌.0.2 can be downloaded for free through the Apple Watch app on an iPhone running iOS 17 by opening it up and going to General > Software Update. To install the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent battery and it needs to be placed on a charger.

Today's update appears to be limited to the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2.

Well, interestingly, I have an iOS update to 17.0.2 today. When it first came out, this was said to be for only iPhone 15 series. Well, I'm using an iPhone 12 Pro. I wonder if once this is updated that WatchOS 10.0.2 becomes available for my Ultra.

Update: unfortunately it doesn't.

hmm, my Ultra 2 does not really show any signs of "bugginess", battery life is great and no functional issues, other than watchOS 10 itself, but that is a different story
You have to keep in mind that only complaints show up on tech blogs like this one. It is likely the vast majority of Ultra 2 owners are perfectly fine with their product, like you are.

Upgrading my Ultra 2 ... I still hope it will fix the annoying weather widget.

LE: It looks like the bug is fixed for now, but I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Not sure what the issue with the weather widget is, but I don't think I'm experiencing it.

Update: read the 9to5 mac article that discusses this issue. I've not experienced it.

On this go round or releases, I'm just letting all my devices do it on automatic mode. This all looks like a mess. When they auto update, hopefully, they will update to these fixed releases.

You know of course that you CAN swipe watch faces, right? You just have to hard press first. Likely so many were complaining about accidentally changing their watch face that Apple added the hard press first before swiping.
I hear you and it may seem petty but the new way breaks the flow of changing faces. I can adapt to either way but prefer the original way. I can't recall ever changing faces accidentally.
