Dark sky 'soon!' And sure enough by the time I'd walked the 15 minutes to the car it started raining...
The Samsung calendar event is a work meeting before anyone cracks the wise one about how has the watch not blown up having that on the screen...

My apologies.

Dark Sky tiny icon automatically changes to umbrella - lets you know rain soon :)

Very cool complication.

My battery life is horrendous after update. Put it on at 8 am and it's already dead. Even went thru reserve power completely.

Not sure what to do...
Same here. I updated my wife's sport watch, and she has been running and all sorts still has 60% left. I have been relatively inactive, and have already had to recharge my SS watch and its back down to 25 % again.

This had been a dreadful update for my watch.

My battery life is horrible too! Burning through 10-25% an hour.
'Now Playing' does not work anymore either. This is not good.
Apple better have a fix soon!

Mine got stuck while "uploading to watch" with 48 minutes remaining.
After restarting the watch and iPhone 6 running 9.1 beta, it resumed and finished successfully :)

Try rebooting both. Battery life is fine here, 96% after 4 hours on.

Just an OFFICIAL response from APPLE Support for you guys, if you're stuck.... HARD POWER CYCLE THE PHONE, (HOME + POWER) and turn off the watch too.... then it will work! :)

Its a great update in comparison to the first beta!! The alarm is really cool; i like how the watch screen stays on like 5 minutes prior to the alarm going on so that the light kind of wakes you up... New colors are cool, but more useful with the more classy bands i guess..

I had troubles installing yesterday too... the download took about 50 minutes or so, then it got stuck at "verifying" for over an hour.
I closed the Apple Watch app, and opened it again, then it proceeded to tell me I was uptodate on WatchOS 1.01.
Clicked away and back on Software update I again had option to Download and Install.
It went much quicker this time, (as it didn't need to download), verifying passed after a few minutes (again, much quicker!) and then it installed correctly to the watch (which again took some time).

Not as smooth as I was expecting/hoping.

I posted the pic that it would take 4 hours (1:54am), i had trouble falling asleep last night and it ended up finishing downloading at 4:30am, BUT it got hung up on "Verifying" That screen disappeared and stated I had 1.01 version. That my watch was not detected because I had no internet access. (??)

I just hit ok, but ended up having to put in my passcode again. It did a quick reboot (Apple logo with the circular timer) for another 5 minutes and it suddenly worked. I did have to reboot my iPhone for that to read my Watch now had 2.0. By that time it was pushing 5am, I got 45 minutes of sleep before I had to get up and go to work...lol ugh.

In hindsight I probably should have waited to install until noon, maybe when I got home tonight. Ah well.
Odd process, but as long as it works!

Interesting that there have been so many different issues with the upgrade. I went thru 2 1/2 hours to upgrade mine and there hasn't been any issues so far that I have found.
Battery life, for me, hasn't changed and I haven't made any changes in the way that I use my watch.

I'm seeing the battery drain quickly as well :-/

Edit: 3% since replying.

Battery life seems back to normal after a full charge last night. Tried the unpair/pair and battery was still draining horribly. Not sure why things are back to normal, but I'm happy.

I wonder if it was somehow related to iOS 9, or something on the iPhone side anyway. I got the crazy battery drain before I updated to watchOS 2 (I updated later in the day). It's fine now... except for my constant fiddling with watch faces and complications.

All,
I am a Beta Developer and have been on the Beta version since they came out on WatchOS. I installed the original GM for OS 2 and was extremely happy with it. So much that I didnt bother to update to the new Public OS2 with a different, newer build. Out of stupidity, I decided to give it a whirl on Monday night. Tuesday, watch dead by 11am... Not happy. Thought it was a fluke. Removed the Beta profile, restarted after a small charge... Draining like crazy.. NOT HAPPY. I finally did what I know is the first step in any software test, I performed an erase and install yesterday evening.
I erased all contents and settings, but instead of running it with no restore from backup, I took a chance and restored it from my backup that was performed only an hour before my erase and install. I am VERY happy to say that last night after using it for about 4 hours off the charger, after charing to 100%, I only lost 7% battery, down to 93%!

Today, I have lost 8% after 5 hours and 15 minutes. Right on par with the previous GM.
I will tell you, for all those that are having issues- Go to your watch App, General> Reset> Erase all Contents and Settings. Upon restart, restore from your backup and see if it made a difference. It did for me, and my bet is, it will for most of you.

Good luck :)

My iPhone still says watchOS 1.0.1. Any clue why I am not receiving the update?

I wish Dark Sky works outside of the U.S. and the British Isles! :(

It's money on the table for them. I wish I can buy this app sooner than later.

Maybe this can be fixed without doing anything.

I don't suggest people erasing their devices just because they become slower and power hungry right after an update. Just let the indexing or whatever complete and the battery life will be back to normal very soon. Too much trouble to an average user.

For me, updating iOS devices and the Apple Watch cannot be simpler:
1) wait for 24 hrs after release to avoid networking issues during an update
2) backup the device to iCloud
3) Update it OTA on the device. Not restoring, and never use iTunes - Source of many troubles (e.g. Slide to Upgrade?)
4) Be patient and don't do anything stupid.

If and only if anything bad happens during the update, I will restore it using the latest iCloud backup.

I think that it's a placebo effect which makes you feel better by erasing all content every time after an update.

I think the majority of people are trying to share their experiences to help others sort out what may be issues so that we all can update our watches with the minimum of frustration.
Your contribution?

Erase and install was suggested as a last resort, after evidence there is truly a problem. Like I stated in the post, many steps were performed to try to eliminate the need to erase and install. On the Apple Watch, it is a breeze to erase and install, and you lose nothing but maybe 20 minutes of time. Indexing and such was not, and is not an issue, on the Apple Watch. As stated, the watch sat all night the previous night (Monday) on the charger. I am pretty certain that during that 9 hours, and the 5 hours it took the Watch to drain its battery, all update functions would have completed. As an Apple Employee, I followed the typical protocols we use when Beta testing hardware and software. I simply gave my real world scenario and offered it to those users having similar issues to try. It solved my problem easily and quickly. Thanks for your information and additional thoughts :)

I waited for the weekend. Have 6 withos9.1. AW 38mm SS. No problems with os 1.0.1. So said yes to os2. Well, said would take 7 hrs then 38 min. Then stopped on verifying ... Left it for an hour little gear wasn't moving. Pressed AW icon on watch app, put me back to start.... Tried this a couple times hung on verifying each time. Then I noticed watched worked Iphone worked both confirmed they were paired. But when I tried to get usage said the phone and aw weren't connected but they were. So I powered off AW and iPhone and then both back on. This morning I have usage info back. But am afraid to try the download again. Ugh

Update. After reading others experiences with downloading os2 .... With fear of getting bricked , I tried again, and download must have taken place even when it gave me trouble because, it verified quickly, and then installed ... No need it seems to download, so I guess it had worked before. Anyway, thanks to others and xperiences, I took courage and tried again, with success.
