These updates not "pertaining to today's fix" IS actually pertaining to it. Like I've personally stated 3 updates and the issue still persist.

But to make YOU happy and others ...
iPhone 7 256GB Matte Black currently being installation iOS 11.2.5
WatchOS Nike+ S2 just updated and off charger (full charge); not this rebooted.
Unlocked Watch
Launched Music that shows my most recently played playlist - butter smooth, no playback done.
Launched Strong ... 6 seconds Just the app name (Top Left hand corner) and time (top right hand corner) = Crash!
auto Watch Home Face
Re-Launched Strong ... 7 seconds (3rd second I see the Strong 'working dumbbell logo spinning') and I now see my apps.
PS: Strong was updated last Friday.

Powered on my Beats Studio3's playing playlist at medium volume (sweet Hip-Hop)
Launched Strong workout ...
Switching back to other playlist listings.
selected another playlist ... half-second response (above normal since September 2017)
Music title scrolling waits about 3seconds then scrolls which I feel is expected and normal across all watch versions.
No lag experienced at all!

Real Test is tomorrow morning when I goto the gym and connect to the Gym's WiFi, out of my iPhones range (most of the workout session) using my Jabra Sport Pulse headphones.

Screenshots to follow momentarily

Note:
Both my Beats Studio3's and Jabra Sport Pulse's are BT Paired to my Phone and my Watch, never at the same time are both headsets connected of course.

PS: I'm at home on WiFi and iPhone successfully updated just as I connected to my Beats Studio3's in the steps above.
[doublepost=1516767229][/doublepost]Pictures updated: what I found odd is the reminder to jump back into the Strong App when the rest countdown timer ends was removed from their last update earlier last week (I updated Friday) and it's back again. Hmmm.

Again ... my real test is tomorrow:

Nike+ S2 Watch and iPhone 7 paired with Jabra Sport Pulse
- all have up to date firmware/software
start listening to music.
outdoor TTC (Toronto public transit commute by bus) to the gym: 40 mins
arrive at gym which has WiFi (I'll double check it's working; valid default gateway and test this site)
Disconnect Jabra Sport Pulse from iPhone 7 (don't want calls to interrupt music)
Play playlist from Nike+ S2 to Jabra Sport Pulse
Launch Strong WatchOS app
workout and track heart rate through Jabra's and strength progress through Nike+ and jump back and forth.
[I do get iMessages through most of the gym due to WiFi connection].

Hoping this all works.
So you have s2 and no lag?

So you have s2 and no lag?

You quoted my post which mentioned the S2 several times and you're asking me? Yes I have an Apple Watch Nike+ Series 2 (S2). As I've mentioned in 2 posts tonights tests was at home not doing a full workout and using just my Beats Studio3's ... not my Jabra Sport Pulse's (which have it's own internal medical grade heart rate monitor). This heart rate monitor kicks in the moment I launch the Strong app on my watch.

PS: I've paid the premium for the full Strong app a few months back so I'm not using the trial/free version that has limited workouts.

Tomorrow I'll reply back with a full proper test.

I'll have to check it out tomorrow. I hope they fix the issue with the Apple Watch and AirPods conflicting. When my Apple Watch is on and I make a call on my iPhone, my AirPods don't work. No amount of Apple Store appointments have fixed it so far.

Luckily i’m on it, but i was thinking of updating....

I regret ever updating my Series 1 to watchOS 4 - my Apple Watch experience has definitely taken a big step backwards.

I was very pleased with the device on 3.2.3 or whatever the final 3.x release was... stable, great battery life. Things like the "Breathe" reminders actually worked on watchOS 3.

Hey... I'm having that issue. Sometimes the airpods won't make the connect chime, sometimes on I'm a call and I hit the audio source button and pick airpods but they don't work. That's on an iPhone X and AW2. Interesting to see this here, is your issue similar?

Well, I'm downloading the update in hopes that my Series 3 becomes fast again. If not, I'm selling this thing and getting the series 4 the minute I hear rumors of a release date. Sounds like the series 2 is a waste for most, abandon wear with no hope in sight.

Just me or is entering the pin when you take your watch off your wrist a lot easier - buttons seem fuller and a bit bigger. I always messed up my pin and had to hit back - but this last update has made it easier. Maybe just me.

My Apple Watch Series 3 was an amazing device for about 3 months until it began to slow down. I haven't even installed new apps since the first week so I can't understanding why the performance degrade? It's unresponsive at times, Siri takes longer to launch, and sometimes Homekit fails to turn off all the lights. Are these updates to blame?
I dont use home kit, most of my stuff is not compatible, my fault for early adoption. But since 4, I do find the bluetooth better, my AirPods have less issue hooking up to the watch. As for slow down, siri is slow, the rest seems ok, I do have issues with accuweather taking its time as well as some of the transit apps. the native app seem ok though. And I do have a series 2.

My S2 is also MUCH more responsive after this update. The UI is fluid and responds with hardly any lag anymore. Same results on my wife's watch. Huge upgrade from before!

My S3 (non-LTE) seems more responsive too. And also the battery life seems much better. 5 hours of walk tracking with HR today, and regular notifications, HR, Stand and Breathe and stuff, and on-time of about 10 hours, and I still have 78% battery left.

I have to side with those saying battery life is better. But I did have that weird issue where the phone refused to see the watch - so I rebooted both phone and watch - charged both to full. 12:30pm I'm still at 100% battery - which is very good for this time. Usually I'm creeping down the high 90s about now (97, 96, 95%).

Woohooo! Confirmed resolved on Nike+ S2 Watch.

Left my gates, iPhone 7 + Nike+ & Jabra connected over Bluetooth, iPhone music source during commute to the gym.
Note: issues connecting to Jabra to phone for 5mins (screenshots note the time within the same minute), powered off Jabra then back on resolved.
Arrived at the gym, stop music playback on iPhone closed the Music app and a surprise, Jabra sounded off automatically “Bluetooth Connected”. Glanced at Nike+ Didn’t notice anything yet in Watch settings a Jabra was connected. Nothing abnormal.
Launched Strong app, music app on Nike+ launched local saved playlist ... issues connecting to Jabra, resolved after 2 attempts to connect via pop-up dialog from Watch Music app and successful.

Began Strong workout, Jabra sounded off “Bluetooth smart connected”.

No Lag during workout in strong app or Music app; jumping tracks forward and back, changing local saved playlist, switching between Strong & Music Watch app while phone was in locker!

Super fast transitions no music issues after initial connection!

As far as I’m concerned Apple fixed all lags. The issue I have now is the Jabra headset firmware. Still under warranty support to be contacted.

Update guys!!

OH MAN! S2 is still strong then. I wonder why some people are having problems with their s2 and latest update.

Anakin... You're breaking my heart.

Signed, sad AW2 owner (post watchos 3.2)
Did you say your s2 is on latest update?

The AirPods seem to work flawlessly whenever I'm listening to music, watching YouTube, etc., but when I make or receive a call, they are silent. Calling back does nothing, switching the audio to speaker or iPhone works, but switching back to the AirPods either doesn't work or simply remains silent. I can't hear the person on the other line and they can't hear me. If I turn off my Apple Watch, call the other person back, and then turn my Apple Watch back on, then they work. Occasionally, even that doesn't work though, and in addition to restarting the Apple Watch, I also have to restart my iPhone.
[doublepost=1517004549][/doublepost]So, this update was a PITA to actually install. It got stuck on "Verifying" until I hard reset both the iPhone and the Apple Watch. After updating though, my Apple Watch finally unlocks my Mac again, so that makes me happy. I haven't tested phone calls and the AirPod issue yet. We shall see how that goes.

OH MAN! S2 is still strong then. I wonder why some people are having problems with their s2 and latest update.

I'm not sure why. Mixture of Apps, low storage reserves?
- honestly I wish there was a better way to manage apps that are currently running vs the Dock. I feel this is poorly designed by Apple.

Yes the S2 still running strong and the issues I faced back since September 2017 is resolved and narrowed down to Jabra headset. Apple continues to make me happy even with the issues created by them (on other platform).

Imagine where we'd all be if Apple chose NOT to enter the smartphone space, the tablet space, and create a revolutionary watch.
[doublepost=1517018275][/doublepost]
My watch is still having intermittent problems transferring music from my phone. With each update I hope that it “just works” like Apple products once did, but no. Reset watch. Reset phone. Open phone watch app, restart phone watch app. Maybe at some point it will start transferring. Sometimes it never transfers. Ugh.

I'll have to re-read any replys you've done since this initial post but what do you mean by "transferring music from your phone" ?

- Copying individual tracks?
- Copying playlists (self made vs Apple's auto 80's, 90's, frequently played playlists)?

Also have you deleted and disabled the "Heavy Rotation" which copies a LOT of tracks over to the Apple Watch? I found this eats up storage quickly and if you have your own personally named playlists with tracks outside of the Heavy Rotation, these playlists are listed yet don't fill up with any playable tracks.

IMPORTANT: Prior to this weeks update, and I'm presuming this continues ... songs in a playlists that are being copied over NEED to be completed. If you remove the Watch from charger the songs stop to copy in the playlist and NO songs are available! serious PAIN in the butt!

Ha, wow, I've not seen that happen yet, but I admit I don't look at the amount of space left as I have only been able to sync maybe 15 songs on the watch, and expect there to be sufficient space left.

I even thought I would stop updating the phone and watch once I had a stable syncing version, but that doesn't help either, they just eventually stop syncing.

Yesterday I had tried to sync about 10 songs before my 10 mile run, wasted 45 minutes trying to trouble shoot, and ended up running with my phone in my hand because they simply wouldn't transfer. Totally defeats the purpose of having the watch (for me).

Guess I should erase/repair my watch AGAIN to make it work? BS! Such a long process. Even restarting my watch takes a long time (series 2). Thankfully my iPhone X reboots in seconds now, which takes a little of the pain out of it.

Thanks the reply, Shirasaki. Misery loves company!

How long are your songs and what's the bitrate and format at?
MP3, AAC, 128/256/320KBPS, 15mins long tracks or 3-6mins?

I ask because from all the former music recordable & playback mediums I've used in my lifetime: Cassette, Compact Disc, Mini-Disc, digital MP3, SonyEricsson/Sony M2 or MemoryStick, MicroSD and finally iPhone internal flash storage, I've always had issues having enough space to save all the music I listen to (House club mixes, DJ mixes over an hour set, Funk concerts etc). Took me a while to realize bitrate and track length affected songs fitting on a medium for me.

I'm STILL flaborgasted that durign sync when Watch App states 7/15 songs ... that the previous 6 songs where NEVER saved to the Watch if I pull the watch off the charger during the sync. Grrrr &%&%^$^$^&$**#

Hey DI2U! Thanks for the reply. My songs are pretty much all MP3 that I've either ripped from CDs over the years or downloaded from the web. All are under 15mb, most are 5mb or less. I should have updated this thread, but I did something different a couple of days ago, and my music started syncing. I originally drag and dropped files to my one playlist on my phone using iTunes. That playlist is supposed to be synced with my watch, but I couldn't get the last 10 or so songs to sync. So I was playing around with my phone, and in the music app I added those music files individually to the playlist that they were already in. Then I put the watch in the charger and opened the watch app, and they started to sync. I now have 40 some songs on my watch. I haven't tried syncing anything more, so I don't know if what I did actually initiated the syncing, or if it was one of those lucky days where the watch and phone decide to sync. My only complaint now is that since a recent update the iPhone app used to say something like "sync complete" and now I have no way of knowing if syncing occurs unless I open the app and watch for it. I wish Apple would let us plug the puck into our laptops and let us directly upload to the watch, but I know that will never happen. Just gotta hope Apple gets this stuff sorted eventually, but they are definitely struggling with bugs in their OS's. Thanks again brother!

At last, my Watch Series 2 regained it’s normal fast responsive interface after updating to 4.2.2. No more 5+ seconds of lag when operating my watch or trying the start or save a Workout session like it’s been plaguing me for the last few months.

Yeah. I am a retired guy who needs to keep my brain busy, so I am developing my own apps for the iOS ecosystem. The bugs in the latest couple of Xcode releases are a complete pain in the ass. Unavoidable. Quixotic. Unpredictable. Not what you want your developer community to live through...

The good thing here is that it really only takes a minute to reboot Xcode and I have yet to lose even one character I typed before it crashed. So, that aspect is actually amazing to me -- how they have so reliably sedimented that OS tech into an app. Its a wild ride. I remember my first decent computer: It cost $500,000 and it had 16 bits for data (64 common today) and 22bit addressing and 60 megabytes storage! It also filled a room. Before then, I had used intelligent programmable calculators that were the size of an old-school portable phone. In that context: I will live with the bugs because its a journey and tomorrow is bringing lots of goodies for the technologist and the user.
