The battery is doing well with this update. This is the S4 battery 24 hours after update.

Airplane and Theatre Mode. I do this to check battery life. Takes away all external variables.

I have a SS S4.
Oh well the battery on my Al 44mm S4, watchOS 6.0.1, with all the complications on just keeps on going.....touch wood. Not that I have tested it, but probably for 24 hours.

My battery was terrible with my S4 and S5 before this. Now it is great in my S4! An hour work out and it is at 70% at4PM. I already returned my S5, so too late for that sale.

I had the same battery issues for my S4. Here is what I did to fix it my issue.

1st - Backup my iPhone
2nd - Unpaired my S4
3rd - Did a factory restore on iTunes which upgraded my iPhone to 13.1.2
4th - Restored from backup
5th - After my phone was fully restored apps, photos, calendar, health data etc. Then I paired my S4 (WatchOS 6)

At 6:00 AM I start with a 100% battery
At 9:00 PM it’s at 62%

How long a battery lasts is really subjective. Only the individual will know how well the battery is lasting and it is wrong of us to expect similar results.
A lot of the consumption in battery energy comes down to what apps are installed, watch faces, complications, notifications, workouts, etc, etc.

I presume you are writing about the S5.....I guess I'll stick to my good old S4...the battery seems to last forever;)
Those symptoms indicate an individual unit hardware fault, and he should seek a warranty repair.

Probably not a good data point from which to make an assessment of anything.

Strangely, yesterday after updating to 6.0.1, my battery life when downhill a bit on my s4. Went to about 35% with no workouts. Normally, on a day like that with 6.0, it would be a bit above 50%. No other changes.

This is a buggy release year, so we'll just have to wait until Apple fixes the battery life.

I just wanted to update this, the Mickey Mouse Speak Time is now working again. I am guessing that after the update it needed to download the voice data while on a charger over night.

Not for me! Didn't know the Mickey voice was an issue before the update. Tested and didn't work. Watch updated overnight. Tried Mickey - nothing. Not even the two finger wave, mean two finger press. Restarted watch - still nothing.

On the battery issue - never noticed it. I use the SPL complication as well.

10/6/19 - update: the other day I tried the Mickey sounds again and they were working. It took DAYS for it to happen which is really strange.

I reached out to Apple support and they looked at the battery analytics remotely. They wouldn't give me the specs but they said it was still within "acceptable specs". I immediately discontinued the chat when the tech support person asked me if AOD was turned on,. I kindly mentioned that we are talking about a S4 here and they should have known that with the serial number I provided.
