Wow, I love the NBN! I’ve been downloading since 10:00. 🙃

Wow, this is painfully slow... Apple really needs to improve the Watch update experience.

It’s really awkward that it is managed by the phone, insists that you keep the watch on the charger, but still wants you to interact with the watch. When the phone asks me to enter my passcode, the watch isn’t actually asking for one. First I need to wake the watch up while it’s on the charger. But the watch is then in nightstand mode, so I need to push a button to get back to the home screen. Then I need to tap something so it asks for my passcode to unlock the device. Then I need to enter the passcode a second time so I can select “proceed” for the update.

It’s usually faster, but it threatened to take days to download— still it took about 6 hours. I think it must be from pushing GBs of data across Bluetooth. Then 20 minutes to verify. Now it is ever so slowly doing the install, half an hour in and less than 50% around the circle...

I added a new face, and the two finger touch works and announced voice. Deleted Mickey, redownloaded mickey. And still no voice from one tap or two finger hold. Oooodddd... I’ll add A few other faces, delete Mickey again, reboot, and read.
I had the same problem after update to 6. I had to unpair and pair again. It worked right away after doing that.

Does anyone even use the MM face? Next will be an issue with the Toy Stoty Hammy face. Is this why we buy these devices?

I use it rarely, but when I’ve had a particularly bad day, the Mickey face gives me a smile.

Looks like almost nothing is supported on the Series 3 watch... no sleep app, no noise app, and only 2 numeric faces... I really feel like at least several features should have been possible to support on the series 3... pretty bummed with the watchOS update especially as long as it took to download/install. iOS13 is nice at least so far.

My watch (series 4) after the Watch OS6 upgrade is now constantly asking me to enter the password for my icloud account. When I do that, it tries to send me a verification code that never arrives. The only way to get the verifciation code to arrive is to log out of iTunes & app store on my phone, and log back in again. After I do that, I receive multiple vericiation code messages (on my phone, on my mac, on my ipad, etc), but when I enter them on my watch it just says verification failed the code you entered is not valid. UGH.

I've tried restarting my watch and restarting my phone, to no avail.

I don't suppose anyone else is having this problem?

There is no sleep app for anyone. The noise app is hardware based I understand, but agree re watch faces. Would it really have been so hard to port a version of the faces to series 3?

I really want a sleep app! come on apple!

The S3 watch has a decent mic, I am surprised it doesn't support the audio app.

But then if Apple released all the features for the S3, you would have no reason to upgrade to S4 or S5. So, it's more strategy than the device won't do it.

Just installed the update yesterday on my serie 4 and no NOISE app elsewhere?
Am I missing something, maybe not available in certain region yet?

My watch won’t switch on this morning. Just stuck on the apple logo. But it turns off when I lower my wrist and on when I lift it again as though the screen is on. Any ideas?

EDIT never mind it’s working now

Where is the option to keep the display on? I don’t care if it drains the battery faster, I just need to be able to use the watch while working.

Un-pairing the watch from my phone and re-pairing it worked to resolve this issue.

same for me :(
Last night I tried the same things. Deleted, added Mickey. Toggled "speak when tapped" on and off. Rebooted. Nada. Bummed. Even if I got the two finger touch to work Siri's voice dubbed in for Mickey just wouldn't be the same. I went to bed missing "it's 10:15, good night pal."

This morning strapped on my watch, gave it a try and got, "it's 6:32, good morning." Whew!

Maybe the sound downloaded overnight?

So I have an Apple Watch Series 3 which IS compatible with the update but because my iPhone 6 can't be updated to iOS 13, I can't update my watch? WTF Apple?

So to confirm this I have contacted Apple support and it does appear to be the case.

Apple has obsoleted my Series 3 Apple Watch because my phone cannot update to iOS13 and therefore expect me to spend £1000 on a new phone just to update my £400 watch. My watch is NOT my phone Apple.

They kept this pretty quiet in the press release huh? I was annoyed but resigned to the fact that my phone was no longer updateable at this point, it happens, but seriously, my ACTUALLY-NOT-OBSOLETE WATCH ? I'm incensed by this.

It's definitely very frustrating that the two hardware / software compatibility cycles are out of sync like this. You could upgrade to an iPhone 6S and be back in the software cycle at least, which isn't a good option but it is *an* option.

Personally I downgraded to an iPhone SE last month which I got for $100 on Woot, took in for a battery replacement, Apple broke it, so I got a brand new SE. Not perfect, but keeps me at least on the latest software. I was able to get a $100 trade-in value for my 6 as well - so in the end was only out the $50 for the battery replacement.
