My Series 5 ends the day around 40-50% still after nearly 18 months of use and that’s with about 13-15 hours on wrist per day. No need for Power Reserve mode for me. It’s a GPS only so I’m sure that helps the battery life.
Same, except I have the cellular model. I do have the always-on turned off, primarily in the winter since I wear long sleeves / sweaters / jackets all the time - figuring I don‘t need the Watch to show the time when I’m not looking at it. I’m actually charging mine now, since I was down to 25% after 30+ hours on wrist and probably could have gotten away with waiting until end of day, but figured wearing while working out might have drained it down to zero before I was done.

The SE is basically the S5 with some features removed.
Basically remove the always on display and ECG from a series 5 and there you have the SE. In the many countries where it doesn’t look like Apple will ever get clearance for ECG, such as Mexico, it looks like the SE is a better choice than the series 5 or even the series 6 since you get basically the same features at a lower price (the S5 is no longer sold by Apple, and if you are not going to get ECG anyway because your country isn’t giving Apple the required clearance then the always on display and oximeter aren’t really worth the extra money for a S6).

I’m not someone who uses the Apple watch and has zero knowledge of it but I think they’re CPU could be the problem (as they both use the same CPU) which is the only thing I can think of in relation to both watches

but yes I find it very strange indeed

I was under the impression that the SE had the same processor as the S6, but I just checked Apple.com and E does have the S5 professor, so it does make sense now that these 2 models are affected ...

Or create a way to update the S3 by basically reinstalling everything.
The only way I could get mine to update the last few times was by unpairing it, then pairing it as a new watch, then updating, then unpairing again, then pairing restored from backup. Nothing else cleared out enough room.

As for this update, this may be a stupid question, but if your Watch is down to Power Reserve and won’t charge, and if it has to be charged up to at least 50% to install the update that fixes this, how do you get it charged enough to install the update?

You may need to take it into a store. Apple has also announced a repair program.

I can't even get 7.3 installed on my Series 3 even with all apps deleted.
I had to end up starting the update with the watch on my wrist, & let the iPhone app go all the way until it gave me a notification that the update is paused until the watch is placed on a charger. Then I put the watch on the charger and continued the update.

With the watch on the charger, no amount of rebooting the phone or watch would allow the update to start. I kept getting the error about needing more space.

Obviously it can't be a problem since you aren't experiencing it!
Sigh... that wasn't my point. I obviously know that many people are experiencing this problem. I am saying exactly what my comment read: I don't understand the problem. As in I have not experienced it, so I don't know what it's like to have it and hope that it doesn't happen to me with the next update. I wasn't denying the problem or that people are having it.

Can imagine a quick software fix is more along the lines of the code tapping the S5 power management a few times to verify it's charging, in-case it fails to charge the first time then try again to charge. The fact that SE is affected means it's likely an S5 chip issue.

Extensive use of the exercise functions (with constant pulse measurements) knocks my S5 gps back quite a bit. I hit power reserve once or twice a week. I'm mostly daytime charging and sleep tracking too, so on wrist can be over 20 hours per day.

I have the SE and updated to 7.3.1. I had no problems until today. Some strange stuff started happening. I think the CPU of the SE and Series 5 have problems. I am sending my watch into Apple. Something is fishy with this.

I have had the charging issue and it came out of no where. After having the watch for over a year with no issues. It started about a month ago when the watch would be on the charger and it just doesn’t charge. It looks like it’s charging, but the batter slowly drains to nothing. Then it takes a day before it’s ready to work again. Thought it was the watch. Updated the watchOS. No change. Took it to BestBuy and they said it was a bad battery. Apple sent a replacement. Same issue with that one. My third series 5 and second replacement is coming today. It has to still be a software issue.
