Apple today released watchOS 9.0.1, a minor update to the watchOS 9 operating system that debuted in September. watchOS 9.0.1 is available for the Apple Watch Ultra, and it will be a day one update for those who are receiving an Apple Watch Ultra tomorrow.

Apple Watch Ultra owners can download the update by opening up the Apple Watch app on the iPhone and going to General > Software Update. To install the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent battery, it needs to be placed on a charger, and it needs to be in range of the ‌‌‌‌iPhone‌‌‌‌.

According to Apple's release notes, the update addresses an issue that could cause audio to be distorted during phone calls when using the speakers.

Customers who preordered the Apple Watch Ultra on launch day will be receiving their orders tomorrow, and Apple retail stores will also likely have stock available.

I am guessing this update also includes the fix for the GPS issue where track back does not properly display the waypoints. One of the YouTube channels had discussed this issue with Apple and they said it would be fixed on the next update.

I think this is the first big enhancement to Apple's GPS engine (and also on the iPhone 14 Pro series) in several years so there was bound to be a few hiccups. I'm looking forward to better GPS when I do upgrade my phone eventually.

It is. L5 also 'technically' isn't 100% ready to go yet - you can use it, but they still consider it pre-operational since it needs a few more satellite launches.

Can´t believe this ****. Patched before arriving.
Did you get yours early and been dealing with bugs? And if you were lucky enough to get it early, wouldn’t you be happy for an update?

It’s like getting upset when ordering a LEGO set and it doesn’t come completed. I hate when things don’t work perfect right out of the box.

👊🙄👍

LOL! I think its a little different, but its normal. Playstations and Xboxs have for years needed this. Your home computer updates Windows as soon as it turns on and so does your Apple computer. Its to make sure you have the latest and greatest experience. I rather have a company trying to get it right ahead of me having issues, so I just say bravo.

Absolutely agree 100%.

Just really confused on how someone could be upset about an update coming before release. Polish up whatever software you can before I use it.

So you guys complain when something isn't fixed, and now you complain when something is fixed, especially proactively. You guys expect perfection in a world that is becoming more and more imperfect by the day. Absolutely NOTHING will make you happy or satisfy you, other than the apple hate.
