Is it confirmed that it’s not in the S7?

From the watch if I go to Settings, Workout, I have Low Power Mode at the top, and beneath that if I scroll I have the secondary “Fewer GPS and Heart Rate readings” option.
For. clarity - I have an S8 - this is what it looks lik
Nope, it’s not available in the S7 settings, it literally doesn’t show up.

I'm a little confused about the auto-pause feature. When I had the Samsung Galaxy 4, one of the features I really liked was Auto Pause. If I was walking and had to stop to wait to cross the street, the watch paused and then restarted when I was moving again. I guess on the watch it only works for some activities. I also haven't even gotten the automatic start a work out on the watch yet even though I have that toggled on. Also, I wish the watch in the work out section actually showed steps. They do not. I like the apple watch and think overall it's better than the Galaxy watch, but there were a few things I do miss now.

It does have triggers for automatically starting and stopping/pausing a workout, and I've had these trigger on my Series 5 (so, 3 years old now) Apple Watch, but they seem to be very conservative about guessing that you're starting or stopping, like it takes a really considerable change in activity. I've never had it trigger on waiting to cross the street (I usually pace back and forth a bit to keep heart rate up).

And yeah, I'm a little annoyed that the step count is missing from the workout display. I have a watch face I use when taking long walks (a Modular face) that shows the big Activity panel, along with a small circular complication from the Pedometer++ app that has my step count and a ring gauge around the edge that shows progress towards your daily goal.

Nice! Guessing it took about 40 mins for you? I forgot to check when mine started but feels like it’s been that long already.

Has anyone else escaped Preparing hell yet?

Edit: lol right as I hit post, mine went into Installing, yay

I didn't check the time. It was lunch time and I was busy posting updates on macrumors.com and eating. By the time I finished my last bite the watch is ready.

So Matter is Home integration type things? The only other home integration I have is the homepod but I guess it doesn't impact me that much. I was wondering what it was.
If I understand right, Matter will make more things compatible with HomeKit and you'll have more options when looking for bulbs and other stuff. You wot be limited to the high prices ones like Phillips and Nanoleaf.

Battery life has been more than halved by this update. Series 7. Stay away. Barely lasts 12 hours.
