Apple today released watchOS 9.3.1, a minor update to the watchOS 9 operating system that first launched in September. The software coming three weeks after the launch of watchOS 9.3.

watchOS 9.3.1 can be downloaded for free through the Apple Watch app on the iPhone by opening it up and going to General > Software Update. To install the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent battery, it needs to be placed on a charger, and it needs to be in range of the ‌‌‌‌iPhone‌‌‌‌.

According to Apple's notes, watchOS 9.3.1 adds "bug fixes and important security updates" to the Apple Watch.

I wish there was an update where you can choose the kinds of Rings you want to close, or you can get rid of some of the rings. I would get rid of the Stand Ring and put in a Steps ring.
It would be cool to have some customization. I run 6 days a week and lift weights 3 days a week. I rest on Sundays and wish I could have some non movement/exercise related rings instead. It is always bothers me to look at my watch on Sunday and see it so empty.

I agree about the customization and I know this probably isn't what you're looking for, but there is a workout called mind and body.

I know some people use it on rest days to close their rings while reading or doing more stationary stuff. It helps keep up a move streak while resting.

Same (though building back now after surgery). Protip: use the Mind & Body workout (it's not on my 3, but it is on my 7) to close your Exercise ring. And you can adjust move down for the day if you want. I leave it low enough every day so a short walk closes it. I'm close to Day 400 of my move streak.

Does it fix the slow charging problem?
I've been wondering the same thing. I'm not so sure it's a "slow charging" problem, but more of an "optimized battery" .... setting(?) of some kind. Like, Apple is trying to do us a favor by not charging the watch right away and letting it sit there on the charger at 100% for who knows how long.

I'm used to just charging my watch on my lunch break or something quick, but the last update or so it just stops charging. I either have to pull it from the charger and try again, or manually go in and turn off optimized charging. And that only lasts one day.

Anyone else experiencing issues with the Home app not syncing? My Home app on my Apple Watch keeps showing No Home Found so I'm unable to use Siri from my watch to control Home accessories. I've tried resetting my Home and setting up from scratch (also had issues with HomePods not configuring)

Same. I keep my move ring low enough to close it on a rest day, and usually log a walk or do some light yoga to close the exercise ring.

I hope the next update they make some big changes in recovery tracking to catch up with WHOOP and Garmin. There's no focus on that in Apples system which probably causes a bunch of people to kill themselves with cardio.

Did this fix the terrible battery life after the last update ?
I haven't noticed a real difference between 9.2 and 9.3. I just put 9.3.1 on so it may be a few days.

I keep my watch charged between 25 and 85 percent so Ill charge it roughly every day.

AOD, no lift to wake, sleep tracking and about 1-1.5 hours or working out a day.

If my workouts are indoors not using GPS I will burn through about 1.2-1.3% of battery per hour. So I will roughly lose 30-33 percent of battery per day.

If im running outdoors (30-45 minutes) using GPS I will burn through about 1.4-1.6% of battery per hour when calculated over a 24 hour period. So roughly 35 to at most 40 percent over a 24 hour period.

What I have noticed is that if I charge my watch to 85% it takes 3-4 hours before it starts to drop. If I charge it to 75% it takes about 2 hours before it starts to drop. It seems that when calculating the percentage of battery left it over calculates when its over 80% and under calculates when its under 80%.

Just my observations over the last 6 weeks.

I used to make it through my day with battery to spare at the end. since 9.3 it starts dying by 8/9pm
