Might be my imagination, but I'd swear that when my phone makes its every-so-often check of my email accounts (3), my watch *used* to get one notification that I had 'n' new email messages. Now, each email comes to the watch as its own notification, so suddenly I've got "buzz - ding!" happening over and over, a few seconds between each one, well over a half-dozen sometimes. Its incredibly intrusive and incredibly irritating. Am I remembering right? Is this a behavioral change? It's a bad one if it is.

I only have my work email send notifications to my watch but I think there is a setting that allows notification groupings so you don't get notified of each one individually. Maybe that setting has changed.

I will say setting up my notifications for my email was not straight forward and I had to play around with a few different settings before I was happy.

Interesting! On the Watch App on the phone in the Notifications setting for mail it was just Mirror iPhone. Over in the iOS settings for Mail in the Notifications there's Grouping and it claims to be Automatic, with options for by app and off. I'm going to hope that what's broken is whatever algorithm they're using for automatic grouping, and switched it to by app. We'll see how that goes. And what terrible wording ... I'm already in the settings for the Mail app, so it would make a lot more sense for the option to be "all notifications from Mail" or even "all notifications from this app" because a setting of "by app" that applies to only one app, that doesn't make a lot of sense from a language perspective.

Thank you!!!!! I hope this does the trick!

(I probably have to reset all my notifications across everything someday - an accumulation of buggy settings over years of phone ownership, VIP email vs favorite message contacts especially)

Cool. I hope you find the right settings that work for you again.

I know I was having an issue where it would send mail directly to the notification center. So I would feel it vibrate and the notification red dot would be lit up but the email would not show on my watch face like iMessage would.

I had to change a setting in notification center that would show the email while my wrist was down. IMO these settings should be accessed in the same place.

Anyway that's my issue not yours 🤣

Sleep tracking is busted after this update on ultra, I have tried removing all schedules and manual sleep tracking, hasnt fixed this issue, it was fine before I updated, I am really starting to hate Apples sloppy software code, we need a new Steve coz the current greedy Goblin in charge isn't cutting it.

Why doesn't anyone write about the fact that after all, Apple Watch syncs iMessage with iCloud...finally...after so many years....
I think this caused a lot of panic in people (including me) since I did not want messages to sync. I dont use iCloud for messages so Im good. I can still delete a message on my watch and it doesn't effect my phone.

This update reintroduced the occasional Watch OS update bug of messages showing up on my watch with just phone numbers and not the contact names. Rebooting always fixes it and then it's fine after that.

What exactly happened?

I have an ultra and enable sleep right before I got to bed. I have had no issues with sleep tracking.

I turned off schedules since it got wonky if i went to sleep way after my schedule.

Same. I keep my move ring low enough to close it on a rest day, and usually log a walk or do some light yoga to close the exercise ring.

I hope the next update they make some big changes in recovery tracking to catch up with WHOOP and Garmin. There's no focus on that in Apples system which probably causes a bunch of people to kill themselves with cardio.

Apple are terrible at displaying health/recovery data in a meaningful way.

Check out an app called Athlytic. It’s basically Whoop/Garmin exertion/recovery metrics for Apple Watch. It also lets you use a single HRV reading that you can trigger yourself with the breathe function from the Mindfulness app, instead of apples crappy approach of HRV readings all day and night.

I’m not the dev. Im just a data nerd and love the app!

Something weird has been happening since I installed the latest update that I just noticed.

When I wake up in the mornings and turn off sleep tracking there is no data logged in my phone and my watch asks me for my password. Only after I put my password into my watch does the data populate on the phones health app.

At first I didn't think much of it but after it happened two nights in a row I thought it was weird. I wondered if I was wearing my watch too loosely. Last night I made sure my watch was really tight and it still asked me for my password when I woke.

Anyone else having this issue?

Come to think of it, my watch was locked after I woke up a few days ago. I found it weird but thought nothing of it because it only happened once.

Sounds like something possibly changed in 9.3.1. then.

In the first few days I had the watch, I put it on at night after charging and didn't unlock it, put it in sleep mode through my phone and went to sleep. Since the watch was still locked it didn't record any of the sleep tracking data.

So now, every morning when I wake up and see its locked for a second I think it didn't record anything. Just annoying.

My battery is terrible after this update. I'd usually be at 30-40% after 18-20 hours on Series 5 with AOD off (taken off charger at 100% before going to bed, until ~6pm). Now it's down to 15% in the same time span.
