Surprised Coca Cola isn't higher, since their flagship product is basically colored sugar water that anyone else can create. Their emotional connection to the brand is basically all they have.

You're kidding, right? Sure, Flash is a disaster, but Photoshop. Illustrator, and After Effects are still top packages in their respective niches. By far, actually.
But they are niche though.

I'm not arguing because I understand the importance of Adobe software. But conisidering every article about outdated Macs results in comments about how the Mac is a dying market, then it is a little surprising to see a Mac/PC dependent software company to be such a high earner.

Congratulations Apple!

Although, if I was honest with myself, I think Apple was a much better company, in the eyes of their consumers, when their brand was less valuable.

Cars and jet engines and turbines and trains and other machinery are not "technology industry"?

o_O
Pssh, we've had all that stuff since the second world war! Surely the jet engines we're using today aren't any different than the ones on German fighters that would overheat, seize up, and then explode like 60% of the time! ;)

I think someone made a mistake with the first graphic. Surely it's supposed to say $b, not $m

Have MacBook pro sales dropped too? Where the heck are they?

I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS!

Come on Apple, lot of people are waiting on you!
Are we there yet?

I used to work in a hospital imaging department. Because I work with computers, and not x-rays, I was considered non-tech.

People at buying the name. Not the product. So good the product was in its heyday and it is credit to Jobs' foresight a decade ago how futuristic his vision was.

But there's a limit to what people will blindly follow. And the innovative and groundbreaking Apple of 2007 is incomparable to Apple 2016. So now Apple is literally testing that limit ... to the limit!

2017 IMHO is Apple's make or break year.

Hang on. I think I tad that a year ago :)

D'oh!

I love the Apple ecosystem. Nothing like it anywhere else. All of my devices are reliable and seamlessly integrate with each other and Apple's services to make a really great user experience for me.

This is why Apple is still the number one: high quality devices with a great ecosystem.
I miss those days that I used to feel the same about Apple. Unfortunately those days are long gone. Not that there is anything better out there, but to say that I "love" the ecosystem is not exactly how I feel when I deal with their buggy and bloated OS.

No matter how many times you say this before the Mac event some time this (or early next) month, the Mac event will still happen on the same day.

Points for the Zoolander reference though.

Ah, I see, it's only "technology" if it potentially explodes or goes up in flames, like batteries of certain personal communication devices?

Once technology get's beyond the point of blowing up in your face (or other body parts), its "magic" ...

are you for real?
who?? millions and millions of photo and video editors.
there is basically no match for their "stuff".

Maybe the poster is only thinking about Adobe Acrobat Reader? That's actually what comes to mind when I think of Adobe haha. Probably because I deal with a lot of PDFs.

I honestly still don't get google valuation. They can't possibly be making much profit after all their loss leaders like youtube. They just make money with adverts but the rest of the company is haemorrhaging money. I think apple is vulnerable if iPhone sales falter and needs to expand into other areas but they make pure profit on every single thing they do. I wish apple took more risks at making losses but I can't believe google's valuation.

I loved the ecosystem back when you had to sync your phone to your computer using iTunes and a 30-pin connector, and the iPhone didn't even have cut and paste.

Now my pictures, emails, documents, even my desktop are in sync and backed up wirelessly, and not only can I copy and paste on the iPhone, I can copy on the iPhone and paste on my MBP, or vice versa. So I'm like, "meh, I miss the days when everything was simple and straightforward. If you wanted a document on your phone, you just dragged it into the appropriate place in iTunes, connected the cables and did a sync. Not all confusing and unintuitive like now.

Sadly that's becoming less true with each version of iTunes, but otherwise, you're absolutely correct. I have MacBooks, iPads, iPhones, Apple TV, AirPort router with Time Capsule, Apple Watch and it's all very well integrated.

I'm rather surprised. I would have thought the iPhone SE (whatever it really is) would have tapped the market for phones given to those past senior citizen age or younger teens or children, say 12-15, who wouldn't otherwise be trusted with a $700+ device. It looks decent, it's cheap, it's great for what it is. I'm miffed about this.

Maybe this will convince Apple to give some attention or love, whatever you prefer, to their MBP line.

...you don't do much video/photo editing, do you?
I doubt he or she does. Adobe is the be all end all for professionals. Sure, there are always new pay options popping up, but Adobe buys them out or slowly crushes them. Their software simply works.

To be fair, Apple has greatly ignored iTunes for many years and continues to push an alpha or beta level product towards consumers and hopes for the best.

It's normal to dry heave when dealing with Acrobat Reader DC or dealing with Acrobat Creator.
