Sorry for the title being so generic, (I didn't know how to say it)

But here's my question.

If both Apple computers have Apple Remote Desktop, Can my mom's boss access her computer at her school from her house? Or is it only if there both on the same network?

I noticed you have to ask for permission to control the computer, if she wants it to control it, what if she can't because the Mac she's asking (No one will be there to allow it.)

Please help.

Apple Remote Desktop can only be used on the same network/subnet. The only screen sharing methods I'm personally aware of or have attempted have been Back To My Mac which comes with a MobileMe membership or the actual screen sharing feature which is bundled with iChat. BTMM does not require physical presence of another person at the computer which is being accessed, but the iChat method does.
