Hello,

I bought today a new iMac and I have the Apple Remote I got with my Apple TV.
This Apple Remote worked great on my old iMac but doesn't seem to work on this one.
I know that they changed something in the bluetooth but I was wondering if there's any way to make it work on this new iMac ( Late 2013 ) and if not what can I use as an alternative?

Thank you very much!

Your AppleTV remote is IR (not Bluetooth). Current iMacs no longer have IR receivers. Consider using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod as a wireless remote.

Thank you so much.
Do you have any idea why Apple dropped IR support?

When Front Row was removed from OS X, that is when that feature was no longer needed on the hardware side. Probably, Apple wanted people to use their Apple TV instead of Front Row.
