apple remote w/ powerpoint?

    does the apple remote that came with the mbp work for powerpoint presentations?

    Not that I know of, there is an application called Sofa Control that allows you to use your Apple Remote with all apps.

    This works, I've used it with Powerpoint

    I thought the remote only worked with Keynote?

    Not if you use the app Sofa Control, which is what blodwyn was referring to.

    You can also use RemoteBuddy which is one of the best 3rd party mac applications out there, IMHO :)

    Yes. I've use the remote with PowerPoint without any extra software.

    Which version of PowerPoint are you using, 2004 or 2008? I am sure I couldn't get 2004 to work, not tried 2008 yet.

    You don't need any other software to get it to work with Powerpoint 08 it does so just fine.

    edit: Powerpoint 04 doesn't work though.

    Try iRed Lite too. Allows you to assign custom commands to the Apple Remote buttons.

    While I don't think he does, it wouldn't matter because he uses Keynote.. not PowerPoint.

    Quick and easy

    I haven't tried anything else but this is set up for use with powerpoint 2004, iTunes and a good few other things.
    Easy to install and use.

    And it's free!!!!
