No unfortunately you can only pause and play music with the remote with the ipod in the dock. their is no way to navigate menus.

Ah I have been searching for a way to do this. It strikes me that it must be possible but I can't find an answer anywhere.

I sent a suggestion to Apple a few months ago about this. It might be worth a try from you if you'd like to see it in the future.

It is a shame that it does not work, however if you want to control the music on your speakers from afar, you might be interested in the iSkin Cerulean TX + RX. It basically turns your iPod into the remote for your speakers.
