The problem here is the devs just can’t get the license by applying. They have to partner with a Chinese company or individual and apply. That’s the requirement. That’s where everything stops. After applying, there will be a review and you might need to update your game for Great Firewall too.

I think there is a diference banning an unlicensed product and banning a licensed one just because the President feels like.

In my view, if the US and the West want to tackle this issue seriously, than a special licensing requirement equal to the one practiced by Chine could be imposed to Chinese companies for and when operating in the West.

This is far more understandable than a US President acting on a tantrum.
