If the AppStore is not safe then why keep the gate locked. Open it up.Or they just need to go to the chalkboard and write 100 times, "I am a complete gullible dumbass!"

I have no desire for Apple to relax restrictions. They missed this one, but took care of it. Still, I consider myself the next level of my personal security. Use common sense, verify, then trust. If the AppStore is not safe then why keep the gate locked. Open it up.
Missed this one, did you read about the crypto app one.I have no desire for Apple to relax restrictions. They missed this one, but took care of it. Still, I consider myself the next level of my personal security. Use common sense, verify, then trust.
There is no free lunch, but dumbasses continue to apply for them. This is why fraud is rampant. I guess common sense and being a rational person is hard. 🙄
I don't ever download App Store apps that I don't vet first, but I have no desire for Apple to open things up as you suggest.Missed this one, did you read about the crypto app one.
How do you vet an app? Plus majority are not like you to take the extra trouble have Apple claims to vet the app for them.I don't ever download App Store apps that I don't vet first, but I have no desire for Apple to open things up as you suggest.
You know, I'm just not really all that worried about it. Let's just shelve this argument. I apparently don't care about it nearly as much as you seem to. I download very few apps anyway. How do you vet an app? Plus majority are not like you to take the extra trouble have Apple claims to vet the app for them.
Because they make money with the in-app purchases.Apple told me I was safe because they take money for in-app purchases. Why am I not protected from this kind of scam on the App Store?
Hey, my first iPod was from freeipods.com... lol.Surely the name “Freecash” should’ve been an immediate red flag
If that's true, then there are a lot of apps that are breaking the store rules.Having the word Free in the name of the app breaks the app store rules. I too am surprised it lasted so long.
I have no desire for Apple to relax restrictions. They missed this one, but took care of it.

Wasn't there a rule for the App store that "free" couldn't be used in an app name? I remember back in the day bunch of apps had to change their names...Surely the name “Freecash” should’ve been an immediate red flag
Maybe they use Apple Intelligence 😀Apple is getting really sloppy in their App Store review process.
If that's true, then there are a lot of apps that are breaking the store rules.

The most insecure part of any system is the human with access control of that system. If those people need a nanny to remove their access to the systems they have access to, then it might make financial sense for them to pay for that so they won’t expose themselves to more serious exploits.Apple told me I was safe because they take money for in-app purchases. Why am I not protected from this kind of scam on the App Store?
You’re talking about the App Store that was the only place where this App could be downloaded from and now can’t be downloaded from? Your thinking is that the App should be available on other App Stores outside Apple’s control so people could still have access to it?Instead of investing in its App Store to make it the best and most secure store, which, face it, it isn't, Apple wastes its money on lawyers to defend its untenable position that the iOS "App Store" can be the only App Store on iOS.🤦♂️
To MORE exploits? How would that help? 🙂If the AppStore is not safe then why keep the gate locked. Open it up.
And, if Apple would just OPEN UP and let there be other App Stores, this would SURELYAnd this one:
