You do realize that most of users aren't aware of that? Or you actually support this move by Apple?
I realize that these things are already curated as they basically always been, and they are optional suggestions. People realizing something or not doesn't change reality.
And reality is that Apple is trying to think for their customers, no matter how you spin it. I'm not american, so I really have no horse in this race.
But I do come from former communist country, so I really do know how easy it is to slip censorship without people realizing what has happened before it's too late.
Every idea needs to be debated. Trying to ban something is never the solution.

Nothing is being banned. Curated optional autocomplete suggestions are being curated as they essentially always have been curated in one way or another by those who provide those optional suggestions. (We are really going down a slippery slope when we get from this down the path of governments and all that.)
If this was happening 10 years ago no one would bat an eye. However this is not a coincidental decision at these times.
