EDIT my wrist is 190mm... so, beware.

I picked up the Watch Ultra today, with the ocean band. The band is too small for me. It is extremely difficult to maneuver it on, and then it is on last hole. You need a little more strap to hold onto as you thread it through the clasp. There's no way I can wrestle with that every day.

I have purchased several Apple Watches in the past and never had this problem. Now someone at Apple had the bright idea to only have one size fits all for this one band. It's a terrible idea, which is why no other Apple Watch band it like that. So I don't have spaghetti arms, I'm supposed to pay $50 extra just to have a band that fits? My other Large Apple Watch bands fit fine.

So I call them up.. pain to get a human, but I do... I tell her the problem and all she does is talk over me, tell me to return it. She insists there is no larger version of this band, but she won't let me explain that there is, and I tell her how to find it. She got so mad I was right she hung up on me.

So... how many men will return their Apple Watch Ultra because the band is too small? This is so stupid.

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but the measurements for the ocean bands have been public knowledge since the watch was announced. This was an easily avoidable problem. Perhaps a little more research on your part would’ve done some good.
Apple says it fits up to 200mm.. my wrist is 190mm... it barely fits and it is very difficult to get up because the band barely come together enough to manaever with one hand.

Yes, if you have a 190mm wrist & put on 200mm band, of course it’s barely going to fit. You’re basically at the max. Did you think that you would have a lot of extra room? It sounds like you need to get that extension ordered ASAP. Either that or swap the band out for an Alpine.

I've owned 3 other Apple Watches that fit me with the band in the box. Now I have people telling me to pay another $50 for the "extension"... this is BS.

It sounds like the ocean band isn't for you, but there are other bands. Thus, the options seem to be:

1. Purchase the ocean band extension (notably not a "larger ocean band") that's really only intended for use with wetsuits
2. Return/exchange the AWU you ordered for a version that comes with a different band (namely, either of the other choices which come in different sizes)
3. Purchase another band

Obviously the first and last options will cost more money, but the 2nd option may involve a wait. I don't understand why one would expect there to be some sort of 4th option, however. This seems pretty standard.

I understand you’re frustrated, but let’s think about this logically. What are your options at this point?

Get the extension. Get another band. Or return the watch.

I am returning it. My only goal is to warn those readers at macrumors that don't have spaghetti arms to avoid the ocean band, unles you want to spend anothrr $50 for a band that will no doubt be too long.

Didn't someone already do a test and swapped in a whole bunch of the old bands? Just grab that?
