What 2010 fall update? Or is he really considering the addition of i7-640M for BTO as a major upgrade?

The only Fall update was the optional i7 processor...
And that didn't upgrade the specs to any standard MBP or MB.
It wasn't across the lines, or anything of that such that could have made it impact the update schedule.
I don't know what other people think, but I'm still betting on a late February, March, or April update. Maybe when a press conference is called for the second iPad, it will be a "Oh, and one more thing" kind of update.

Sounds like a good decision. I will definitely be waiting for Haswell for my next Mac Pro, anyway.
I'm buying Sandy Bridge now when it comes, and when MBP gets Rockwell it is time to upgrade anyway

You are correct, sir. Just like when they tell you that, later, the mbas can have ram upgraded. Bottom line is that they're salesmen.
