So long story short, like a dumb ass I didn't put my new case on before I left for work. My phone fell outta my pocket & the screen shattered. It's still functioning so hopefully it holds me over until Friday for my appointment with Apple. My question is will Apple also replace the metal frame around the phone when they fix the screen ? It has two Knicks in it.
 
Normally if they have screen replacements available, they will likely to replace the front panel and not the aluminum casings. But they will also do some visual checking to see if the phone is bent or not. If it's bent, then the whole unit will be replaced, if it's not bent then just the front panel.

Since it's cheaper to do the front panel then replacing the whole unit, but looks of it you don't like the nicks on the aluminum casing?
 
Took my 6s in with a cracked screen and was told they didn't have the parts/tech to do replacement screens yet do just replaced the whole phone but only charged for a screen replacement. I think if the frame is distorted they'll charge more.

I can live with the little mark in the casing, I was just hoping since they're replacing the screen they would do that that also. If it is bent, will they replace it with a refurbished 6s plus ?

How long ago was this ? I'd rather just have the entire phone replaced instead.

The side casing is actually the framework into which all the internal parts are affixed. It would take several hours and $$$$s of labour costs to replace it and it would be cheaper to buy a refurbed phone.

If you take it to the apple store genius they will give you a replacement unit.

Same thing happened to me. I took it in and they said they don't have the repair parts for it yet. So they would give me a new phone for that price of the screen replacement. Luckily, the guy ended up not charging me and just gave it to me. Said it happens. Best of luck. I was stoked man. Already paid a grand, last thing I wanted to do was pay more.

Had mine replacement Saturday and can confirm the same thing they don't have the ability to replace the screen. Genius said for screen replacements right now they charge for the screen but replace the phone.
 
I'm gonna go try my luck & see if they'll let me slide & just give me a replacement instead of paying. I already paid a lot for this phone & really don't wanna fork out more.

Would there be any refurbished units at this point since the 6s is still fairly new ?

I got a new one from the box.
 
Yeah, I'm gonna give a shot. If not I'll just pay then. I'm definitely keeping a case it from now on
