(I'm slightly embarrased to admit it but) I love wearing watches, but that's also the problem that I have with an "iWatch". I like to wear a different one each day and also change and match it depending on the occasion. Watches are too much a matter of fashion to me than have Apple be able to deliver a device that I'd want to use every day. And as long as it looks "watchy", it'd be stupid to wear it on the other wrist while keeping a regular watch on.

Either way I'm looking forward to seeing what Apple will come up with. The other watches so far didn't convince me of the concept, but either way, new tech always is interesting to see.

(and towards the "Samsung will build an sWatch" comment(s): Samsung already have built a watch (it failed completely), so they were earlier than apple :) )

A watch is the only jewelry that a man can wear.

Watch collecting is very popular.

I don't wear watches and haven't since I was a kid, some 20 years ago, but I think Tim and the rest of the Apple Gang have something there.:)

Gulo,

I realize now lots of people use Cell phones for time keeping devices, but 20 years ago that wasnt really an option, just out of curiousity what did you use then to tell time?

Good old mechanical watch for me. I don't see myself adopting this until its popular like the iPhone or Google Glasses. Oh, wait, maybe just the former. :p

Wait...apple is serious about this watch? i thought this was all just a big joke... oh my they went crazier since Jobs died than i thought

Not really, I like wearing earrings and rings (as long as they are silver/stainless steel/black - and no overkill, just one ring at a time) and different glasses.
An "iWatch" would have to offer a great functionality for me, I won't spend money on something that I know I'll just put on occasionally when it's concept is to wear it daily. Kind of hard to explain.

Prince Albert?

There was always a clock somewhere if I needed it, kind of like how there used to be phones nearby if you needed it. ;)

If I was in a place without clocks, I probably didn't want/need to check the time that much anyway. I actually got through high school and college just fine before cell phones got popular and I succumbed to getting one myself...

I'd be for it if it would track my HR and record my rides and be small enough to fit on the stem or handlebars of my bike. I have a Forerunner 301 I use now and it's huge, but I'd rather wreck that than the iPhone in the woods.

I really don't like anything on my wrist or fingers.

I'd be embarrassed to wear any type of watch in public including the iWatch.

You are still alllowed to wear clothing at the same time.

Overhead position of the sun, during daylight. At night, by what was showing on TV.

Watches just aren't classy anymore.

People who actually are "classy" don't use the word "classy."

it would be cool if did something like this

To wonder woman for my taste.

With the exception of when my arm was in a sling. And then most of the time I wore my watch on the other wrist it was just hard to put on. I cant remember the last time I went out in public with out a watch. Most of the time I sleep with a watch on.

It is so much more convient to glance at the time on your wrist instead of pulling a phone out of your pocket. And sometimes I leave the phone in the other room or in car so I can pay attention to my family instead of my phone but I still need to track time.

I look forward to seeing what apple and even google has to offer in a smart watch. I am all for what it can do. I just dont know if I am ready for one on my wrist anymore.

Have to say... I think Apple may pull something out of the hat on Monday. The WWDC invitations seem to me to hint at a watch. Roman numerals, and the first W is cut off and looks to me like it is meant to look like a watch hand.
Honest question: Has Apple ever actually dropped such subtle hints in their posters for WWDC / MacWorld? I've seen many people read between the lines of these images over the years but haven't seen anything come of it.

If Apple has the iWatch then Samsung will surely invent the sWatch...no wait!

... Most of the time I sleep with a watch on...

That reminds me of that joke, what's the difference between 'light' and 'hard'. You can go to sleep with a light on.

Now this really has me wondering!
I even went back to check the invite graphic and now my conspiracy theories are racing!

that's just to prevent others from getting it wrong as people will commonly refer to it like that.

the real name for their iWatch is: iBand
