Dark Matter was a great book. But I cringe a little at the idea of turning it into a recurring series.

It should be a limited run mini-series. Keeping him on the run a la, Quantum Leap would get old, quick.

I have some hope ATV can pull this off. I liked 'For All Mankind'.

I liked Ted Lasso, 'See' was meh, The servant was terrible., Amazing Stories was just a notch above bad. Morning show was just okay. Everything else awful...
Servant is one of my favorite shows of the year. Amazing Stories was indeed terrible.

Morning Show and Ted Lasso were masterpieces.

See was very good and very watchable. Gorgeous video. Excellent script/acting.

He. And I wish Apple was paying me. I've just been beyond thrilled with the content. Genuinely. And my opinions seem to be the consensus if you check Rotten Tomatoes.

Users like yourself and many MR commenters are the blatant outliers.

I did like the Syfy show Dark Matter. I also really liked the book Dark Matter. I came across it by random from my local library. Checked it out and loved it. Looking forward to this series.

If they were continuing the existing Dark Matter TV series I may have actually signed up for Apple TV (temporarily). As it stands, I have zero interest in the service.

Damn, for a minute I thought they were going to take over the reigns of this show.

This might have made me get Apple TV+. Especially if they also picked up Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Firefly.

Really need to catch up on all the Apple TV+ content being released recently. Used it a few months to watch launch titles and haven’t touched it since but seems like it’s growing at a good pace and with high quality content in different genres, without all the degenerate & politicised propaganda you find on Netflix. Will have to give Apple TV+ another chance soon

Same. Really got my hopes up for a minute, because that show was phenomenal.

I got excited for two seconds when reading the article. I wish someone would revive this.

I wish someone would finish it off! The last season was left wide open and would love to see it finished.

Back k on n topic, never read this book so now I’ll have to grab a copy before it’s released.

I also thought this was about the Dark Matter TV show. What a great show.

Came here to post exactly that.

Whole lotta love for the SciFi (SyFy, whatever) series Dark Matter...!

I was also kinda pissed when SyFy decided against a finale season for the show, yet gave Killjoys a finale season... Don't get me wrong, I also watched all of Killjoys, it was a decent bit of sci-fi distractionary entertainment...

While we are on the subject of disappointing endings to sci-fi series, I just finished watching all two seasons of Stargate Universe again, still a major bummer when those last few minutes go by...

Even worse when it was learned that the sets were demolished, thereby preventing any plans of a closure movie (direct to video)...

Oh dear... here's what's going to happen:

Much loved and well respected novel to be turned into a series for Apple TV.
Director/producer has some connection to adolescent superhero movies.
Pivotal characters are gender/ethnicity reassigned, causing all manner of plot problems, because reasons.
New characters/plots, not in the original work, are introduced, as obviously the director/producer know better than the original author, because reasons.
A teaser trailer is produced, featuring some well-known acting talent, and a bunch of CGI and everyone (who doesn't know the original, or doesn't care) declares it to be utterly amazing.
Hordes of self confessed experts on the subject weigh in, asserting that it's not only OK, but required to 'update' and 'reinvent' the original material for a 'modern audience', and this makes it better than the original, and if you disagree, you must be some sort of bigot/racist/misogynist/anti-semitic ******.

See 'Foundation' for further details.

More good science fiction shows coming to Apple TV+? Sign me up.

Did you see See? Lol

Not nearly as good as I had hoped in my opinion. The Morning show was surprisingly good though.
You do realize the TV shows produced are produced by the people working on the phones right? It's actually people who in TV and movies. Matt Tolmach doesn't make iPhones. He's a producer on films.
