The news in the second link is from may last year yet we didn't see anything yet. (on other handsets too)

I do want to believe Apple incorporates this into it's display instead of the other options mentioned here before like TiD on the back/side or no TiD at all.

As for your first link, can't acces it right now, somehow my VPN connection doesn't allow it.

Sorry about that, don't worry though as the second link to the Korean newspaper report is where most seem to have got their sources anyway.
That is the downside to the story, that they haven't managed to get it into a device on sale yet....

Maybe next year?

Hopefully this year, if the rumours are right and we get this super duper iPhone 8 with TouchID under the glass and very minimal bezels I am in.

Between LG and Samsung TVs, LG is king of OLED in the TV market. No brainer.

I'm very sad that I won't be able to leave my new iPhone plugged in with display on most of the time, like I have for years, because of burn in.

It's not an issue with new OLED screens. LG has protection screensavers on their TVs to detect and prevent potential burn in.

Yes it is, go and look at a load of TVs lined up, doesn't matter if they are OLED or LCD, they will all have different pictures, people will choose which they prefer, I personally don't find OLED as fantastic as everyone says over LCD, and that's as I said after having the Note 5 twice, I find my Nexus 5 LCD screen to be better.
No it's not. :)
I don't understand why you keep insisting on your false opinion.
Just go to a TV store and compare an OLED TV with any other non OLED.
It's visibly,and instantly superior.
You probably never seen an OLED TV next to non-OLED or have a defective eye sight.
End of story.

OLED is future, the displays are fantastic! Finally Apple is moving away from LCDs, they are simply inferior compared to other options out there. With all due respect, many flagships beat Apple products in this department.
