iPhoto uses facial recognition licensed from Omron. It's very processor intensive and unsuitable for the iPad.

Maybe if you could turn it to anonymous mode for when you're in public, and then people can request to know your name and see your profile.
I mean, otherwise someone could just bust this out on a train and then they have your name, they could use that to find your facebook, linkedin, last.fm etc, and eventually get a bit too much information.
I'd only use it if it had this type of anonymous feature, or I can switch it on and off.
