I ended up switching to Outlook. I loved Mail. But way too buggy. I don't know how Apple can seriously use this internally.
Honest question, but what bugs? I use Mail everyday and I can’t recall really ever having any issues, except one recently, which seems to have fixed itself, where if I read a message on my iPhone, the notification dot would remain on mail until I quit/reopen.

Would you prefer Windows 11?
No. I’d prefer a unified product and software naming system based on year of release.

There’s too much confusion in documentation, footnotes, etc.

Thus next year’s products

iPhone 25 SE
iPhone 25
iPhone 25 Pro Max
MacBook 25 Air
MacBook 25 Pro
iMac 25
iMac 25 Pro
Apple Watch 25 SE
Apple Watch 25
Apple Watch 25 Ultra
etc.

Would simplify things a lot.

Marked new mail as read on Mac, but iPhone and iPhone Mirroring still show unread badge (even hours later).

Tim, do you think you could perhaps address this decade-old issue in iOS 19 once and for all?? Or should I ask Taylor and Barbra to ask you?

Thanks.

P.S. I'm using Apple Mail app with @icloud.com address.

Tim.
Would you be kind and finally provide Siri in Polish?
Ah yes - Tim Cook, the guy in charge of software engineering at Apple.

Sounds like Apple is going to continue to release software updates for years to come.

So happy 😃

Kind of like Ubuntu updating every 6 months, Apple should update every 2 years not annually.
Some complain Ubuntu releases on time, ready or not.
Also, old hardware would last longer.
Pulling the plug, like Windows is doing, claims to send over 240 million PCs to the boneyard.
Apple is not doing much better with any of their products.
On the other hand, "The new Mac mini is almost certainly coming."
It's not about how often they release updates. It's about the amount of resources they devote to new features vs enhancements vs bug fixes.

I just don't get why we need a new OS release every year. Remember Tiger was released in 2005, Leopard was 2007 and Snow Leopard 2009. I wish Tim Cook would get on stage and say no new features. Instead we have the most polished OS releases ever.

The tech industry needs to stop pushing new features, how many UI enhancements do I need on already broken websites? Can't even buy a T-Shirt without the website being janky as heck.

Keeps the pressure on consumers to keep updating devices.

All of you who have strong opinions on what’s wrong with iOS, iPadOS, macOS etc etc or seem to have all the time in the world to make jokes about Courage, “Can’t innovate, my ass” & Siri… this is the time to hit up https://apple.com/feedback and talk about where you think the platforms need work and why.

Talk directly to the people who can make things better with enough lead time that some of what you want could actually become a reality.

Silly me.
I was looking into the future as you were numbering OS versions.
I get what you are saying now. That is how Ubuntu operates.

This would work best if everything was released in Q1.
I still believe release every 2 years and make it worth the wait.
Problem with hardware is Apple being greedy and the users just can't wait.
Even cellular companies don't expect you to update annually.

Top 5 features I’d like to see in iOS 18:

1. I want to prevent apps from pausing my music
2. I want to prevent apps from pausing my music
3. I want to prevent apps from pausing my music
4. I want to prevent apps from pausing my music

I have to admit, that’s a unique opinion I have never heard until now.

I like that idea. As long as we are wishing, could we have the Apple TV show up in Settings with an indicator of the generation? All of mine just say Apple TV 4K.

Mark previously mentioned that macOS would be getting a bigger UI update next year, and I am guessing it will follow some of the iOS items from this year such as dark dock icons, as well as an overhaul of messages and some other apps to get them in line with iOS. Apps like Journal are missing from macOS and I would guess that would show up as well.

All of that plus some various UI changes to control center and giving Siri more power on the mac sounds like a bigger update for next year.

Just make the next Mac OS optimized for better performance, just like Snow Leopard got under the hood tweaks.

Makes sense. They currently have teams but fixing the betas, other teams working on AI which will be ongoing, and then the conceptual teams would work on their next big ideas with project managers figuring out allocations for different development teams, and there are probably designers constantly refining ideas, such as things that didn’t make the cut for this update cycle.

Samsung has been doing that for Galaxy S series since 2020
