which argument are you going to have and respond to?

first it was ios isn't fragmented, next it was there are android devices that are fragmented right now for sale with no upgrade, then it was every day there is android updates (which would reduce fragmentation), then its you can't access the android market, then its verizon's fault for having a marketplace, then its Google really isn't open, then its your point doesn't need figures, then its proven their is fragmentation on ios, then it doesn't matter and it wasn't your point originally. the point is you attempted to make multiple points, didn't make any, and didn't answer any of the questions i had

here is the one i keep asking,
- what does android alleged fragmentation have to do with apples financial call?

your argument and job's was proven idiotic by the very developers jobs tried to speak for (without their knowledge it appears)

you can bold all you want, make an argument, stick with and prove a point

Sorry, that's a link that provides figures to back up your claim.

I didn't make any claim that required figures to back it up.

There's no "then" involved here. I'm not shifting my arguments based on others' responses. I made those points in the exact same post (some of which you are misquoting or misrepresenting). None of which you felt capable to respond directly to aside from the weak copout of "you obviously know nothing of which you speak." (When you can't counter an argument, insult the opponent. Brilliant).

then its your point doesn't need figures

None of my points do need figures. You're the one who erroneously claimed they do.

the point is you attempted to make multiple points, didn't make any, and didn't answer any of the questions i had

I made several points, many of which you quoted (or misquoted) me above. You choose not to address any of them aside from throwing out an insult.

And which "questions" did you have exactly?

here is the one i keep asking, - what does android alleged fragmentation have to do with apples financial call?

It has everything to do with Apple's financial call. Steve is talking about Apple's product strategy and contrasting that strategy with the competition's. He's making a case for Apple's approach moving forward. Seems quite easy to understand.

your argument and job's was proven idiotic by the very developers jobs tried to speak for (without their knowledge it appears)

Lumping my argument with Jobs' comment about TweetDeck is irrational. I said nothing about developers.

As for Jobs' "idiocy," I'll take his track record over Anonymous Internet Critic any day of the week.

you can bold all you want, make an argument, stick with and prove a point

And you can ignore the points I'm making and respond with insults and irrational requests for "figures" all you want. It won't change the facts in the matter (current Android devices shipping with different OSes, multiple app stores serving different motives, etc.) that are very real on the Android platform. Will these very real problems hamper Android's success? Will the iPhone be destroyed by "free and open" Google? Only time will tell. But the fragmentation of the platform can't be denied, and it's very relevant to Apple's business plan.

no basis, no facts, no real life experience, no substance, no reality

From one anonymous internet critic to another, you've been served thanks for playing

NEXT!!

I don't have time for your complete inability to respond directly to the arguments presented.

Good luck with your future "debates."

P.S. it's usually helpful to include the quote you're responding to above your response. For future reference.

Don't worry, i can make time to serve it up all day, to quote your boy drew, "next question!"

i got 99 problems and this ain't one! considered the chat room closed

With all the positive speculation on Apple's results, they would have been hard-pressed to have this call do anything but trigger a stock drop. Every analyst has upped their predictions on Apple repeatedly. Wall Street is all about speculation and how your company meets their expectations/speculation.

That all might end soon. Now that IBM have joined sides with Oracle, Harmony doesn't have a very bright future.

Who knows.... If IBM and Oracle can work together, maybe we will see Microsoft, Apple, Google and Facebook all becomes friends.

How can any of this be bad for Apple?! Isn't that a ton of profit?

Who cares what analysts say, their funds just keep growing and growing! At this point it seems more risky to bet against them.

Because the stock market is idiotic, that is way. Running a succesful company is not enough, growing and expanding at an ever accelerated rate is all that counts these days.

It did not used to be like that. The stock market is just one big legalized gambling pit. The whole thing is stupid the way it works and it undermines our economy and that of the world.

P.P.S - Served again, i see you signed off since you really knew not of what you spoke nor could form a consistent argument based off of any real input other than your own prejudice as Dev's LIKE android's outlook. As randy moss would say "straight cash homey"

I made it perfectly clear I was no longer going to engage with your complete lack of rational discussion aside from your lame "you know nothing" copout, juvenile taunts ("Served again?" Really?) and goofy jive talk. I thought the "chat room was closed?" Apparently having the last vapid word was not enough for you - you had to toss out another post of nothingness in the form of a P.P.S. As for devs "liking Android's outlook," you can find any number of articles on the Web that show just how unprofitable Android is for them compared to iOS, if you care to look. And some may love the outlook for Android. I never said they didn't. And I don't care if they do.

Oh, and I clearly answered your question (that you kept asking) about what Android fragmentation has to do with Apple's financial earnings call, but clearly you've chosen to ignore it.

Don't bother responding as I won't be reading it. You can't respond directly to any of my arguments with intelligent counterpoints so I'm not going to waste my time continuing to address you.

Enjoy your Android phone. Or whatever. I'm sure it's awesome.
